Would an exorcism work?

I have often wondered something. This can be applied to the general universe, but I know canon and rules, etc have changed throughout, so I’m only going to focus on the first movie and the 2013 remake, for simplicity.

If you took a possessed Cheryl or Mia and strapped them to a bed and tried to give them an Exorcist-style exorcism, do you think it would work? What would happen? Would it be just like what Regan went through, or something different?

Personally, I’d love to see Cheryl or Mia getting exorcised. It would be tons of fun. But the movies make it pretty clear that the only way to rid the demons is dismemberment or fire. So maybe the priests are off the hook?

chances of getting an evil dead 2 extended cut?

evil dead 2 has some really great deleted scenes that never made it into the movie (eg. extended work shed and laughing scene, time travel sequences and just a few scenes to let the horror settle in) and with an extremely likely chance of a rerelease next years for its 40th anniversary, what do you think the odds of us getting an extended cut will be?

Follow up from my previous thread and thanks for the welcome!!

Hello Evil Dead fans! My name is Chris, from Italy. A couple days ago I asked in the group the best way to share a horror short I made inspired by Evil Dead and Bruce Campbell’s performance and I got some great advices on how Reddit works and good feedback and I was encouraged to post the film in this group. I am respectfully doing so and I want to say that the video is not monetised and I am not looking for anything other than share my passion with other fans like me. I hope you enjoy my best Bruce Campbell impression in the film and please let me know if I shouldn’t have posted the link! I am learning Reddit as I go. Thank you all so much and viva Evil Dead!

Guys, some interesting news, about Evil Dead Wrath (2028), from IMDB's all cast and crew section. Rosalie Button has contributed to the choreography of 'Deadite movement' and she is Ella Newton's stunt-double. Ella Newton will definitely turn into a Deadite aside from Jessica McNamee who recently talked about her creepy character (she may even be the main antagonist like Ellie Bixler in Rise). And Kohli Calhoun is Charlotte Hope's 'dialect coach'.

1981’s Evil Dead used thick glass sclera contacts. They blocked all vision, caused pain, and required removal every 15 minutes to let eyes breathe.

Evil Dead Burn - Why need the book if the deadite is already unleashed?

So, I was just re-watching the Evil Dead Burn trailer. At around 1:18, Alice speaks "Kunda."

Going by the Evil Dead logic, this recitation activates the dormant Deadite.

But isn't the deadite already roaming free and wreaking havoc in the form of possessed Jessica, as shown in the Burn trailer?

What's the need to call it again via the book?

Or am I missing something?

Rewatched Evil Dead Rise after 3 years. What a fun, twisted & wild ride!

Thought it was only okay after seeing it in theaters 3 years ago. Didn't really feel like OG Evil Dead to me (neither did the remake, which I came to love over the years). Now I've rewatched Rise and I had a total blast with it. This film is so twisted, playful, full of dark humor and it's very violent. Ellie has become one of my favorite deadites now. She steals every scene she's in. Loved the moody, slow burn approach and then suddenly all hell breaks loose and the pace shifts into relentless gear; grabbing you by the throat and never letting up until the credits roll. Excited for Burn now.

Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell & Rob Tapert at work: creating a timeless masterpiece and the ultimate Evil Dead movie imo

I have questions about The Mummy I need answered

  1. Why is the demon inside Katie speaking in English? Isn’t it an ancient Egyptian demon? Shouldn’t it be speaking in Arabic? It would have been so much better if it was..
  2. We can see the demon has telekinesis by the way it kills the Abuela.. yet it needs the brother to come inside the room to untie her when she’s strapped to the wheelchair? Why can’t she just untie herself lol

Have noticed an uptick in ideas for alternate settings for an Evil Dead story...

The Old West might be fun?

Miner finds the Book of the Dead in a crevasse as he's mining... Takes it to town for cash... Say a professor and his intern are traveling through and happen to be at the saloon when this BoD is presented... Shenanigans ensue.

Evil Dead Burn heavily relies on practical, real fire rather than digital VFX for huge portion of the film.

Real fire captures distinct texture on the actors skin that CGI can’t replicate. Sébastien Vaniček
