I see many contradicting points, has anyone whos been to a burn early screening confirm or deny, Im about to do a evil dead binge to prep but i dont know if i want to watch the tv show or not
Hello, my best friend and I are about to watch the first three Evil Deads in preparation for Burn. We have never seen them and I have owned the shout factory 4K of darkness for a couple years sitting on my shelf. I see the four versions: theatrical, directors, international, and television cuts are on the physical release.
I am not a purist who believes to watch the theatrical cut first if there is simply a superior version available to me. Which is the best version in your opinion? Any and all advice/guidance would go a long way! Thank you very much.

I like the atmosphere on this one a lot, but personally I would prefer that there were a limit of enemies per room, or at least that the respawn only happened once you come back after having cleared and reentered the area.
Hello!! I thought this would be a fitting sub, since some people say The Mummy belongs to the Evil Dead universe.
How "haunting" is the movie? I can watch all the fictional gore in the world but paranormal and really uncanny stuff keeps me up at night, even though I've watched quite a few movies like that (I haven't even watched Evil Dead Rise bc the lady's face creeps me tf out)
I've seen people say that the writing isn't great and the acting is nothing special. but I'm fine as long as it's nothing too creepy like Incantation or smth 🙏🏻

I’m sitting here watching the original evil dead and I’m genuinely wondering is that grits coming out of ash’s homeboys sleeve towards the end of the movie when ash defeats all of the deadites
This is a really lazy way of having someone cameo in a movie. Just have them appear in a black void and say their famous line. I almost respect it. Where the hell is Ash supposed to be? Why is it pitch black? Why is there a sinister sting when he turns his head? Should I be scared by Ash?
Okay guys hear me out...the setting is perfect.
A pirate ship is made of wood and has all these different cabins for the crew. Depending on the time and location, you could have a cast from anywhere in the world. Also pirates would make for amazing deadites--imagine a pirate with a pegleg and an eyepatch going crazy on the crew. Maybe the pirates recover the book of the dead from a shipwreck or someone could have snuck it on board. There are so many possibilities here! What if the book started possessing sharks or other sealife?
Evil Dead has demonstrated that it can work in any setting. If Voyage of the Demeter can make this premise work, then I want an Evil Dead movie with pirates in it.
Watching the Evil Dead II 4k for the first time and within the first 4ish minutes, the scene where Ash says “Hey there’s a tape recorder here” Ash’s audio kinda cuts randomly. Instead of saying “Hey there’s a tape recorder” it abruptly cuts and like “-Y there’s a tape recorder here”
Just wanted to know if it’s a thing with all of the 4k discs or just mine or a player issue. I checked on HBO Max and it doesn’t happen there.

Has anyone heard whether Evil Dead Burn will be getting a 4DX release? I live in South Florida, and my closest 4DX theater is Regal Dania Pointe. I’m really hoping it gets one because it seems like it’d be an awesome movie for the format.Has anyone heard anything or seen any announcements?
