How similar are the official practice tests on the ACT website to the actual exam, Aparrently the june math act almost cause an international crisis, yet the online practice questions seem really easy. If the practice tests are easier, why would the ACT set you up for failure lol
i’ve been studying for the July 11 ACT since around May, and I feel like I’m running in circles. I keep studying mainly for math, yet I still feel like I’m in the same place. I’ve switched study plans about four times now, and whenever I switch, I forget what to do. In May, I was a pro at percentage problems, but now I can’t remember how to do them. I’m taking practice quizzes and not knowing how to do the simplest things, and when I watch how to solve a practice problem, I only ever know how to do that specific problem.
All I want is a 29. It’s not even that much; it’s basically the bare minimum for UCF. Also, I’ve been so wrapped up in studying math that I’ve been sidelining English and Reading. At this point, with 18 days left, I’m at my wit’s end, so I just have a couple of questions.
Math
• Is this a good practice test to study from: https://b.testpapers.net/act/real2-/ACT-202412-Form-H31.pdf?I know it’s in the old format, but the questions on it seem easy.
• I’m always hearing contradictory things saying the math is easy or that the math is the hardest. For example, one test that has a harder math section is the J01 one, so I’m guessing the math section is just a guessing game about whether it’ll be easy or not.
English
• This is probably the easiest part of the test and the one I’m most confident in, so if I could only get some tips on this one, that would help.
Reading
• I’m assuming the best way to study for this is to read a ton of ACT passages, as the video I watched suggested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCb_9rcl6k8&t=946s
Really, I’m most worried about math. I think I’ve got English and Reading, but I don’t know — I’m losing my mind over this ACT, so any response would be a lot of help. Thank you.
