a question about practice test's

How similar are the official practice tests on the ACT website to the actual exam, Aparrently the june math act almost cause an international crisis, yet the online practice questions seem really easy. If the practice tests are easier, why would the ACT set you up for failure lol

Math studying resources?

Hiya!

I’ve got my second ACT attempt coming up in a few days (scores from first attached).

I’ve been using a website called Roadto36 to study math daily for the past few weeks, and it was going pretty well until the website just broke on me today —symbols started appearing as $ and other random stuff instead of what they were supposed to be, lessons wouldn’t save progress, final practice text would crash when I reached the science section, etc.

Point is, I need a new resource to study for math these next few days. I do better with lessons than I do practice tests. Anybody have math studying recommendations so I don’t lose my edge? 🙏

extremely underwhelming result, any tips/advice would be much appreciated

Don't know how I got such low of a score, especially in Math. I usually excel in Math so I really don't know what happened, maybe have forgotten key ideas and topics or had small mistakes. Any videos/courses/books to help me get back on track? Didn't really care about Science, but I do want to increase also English and Reading, I've taken multiple English practice tests and can't seem to get higher than a 27, seemed to of plateaued. I don't have any practice with reading at all, any tips to get started? Would it be possible to reach a 30+ by September with 2 hours of daily practice?

How to do this question? Form J04 Reading

F and G seem to be saying the same thing, as both are supported by the passage.

H is obviously irrelevant.

J is supported by lines 47-49.

Why is G the correct answer?

Are the "not scored" questions purposefully diffucult/wierd?

I took the second enhanced practice test (only the ENG so far) and most of the questions that I missed came from the questions that were marked "not scored". Is this just a coincidence or is it because it's difficult/weird so I was probably going to miss it?

second-guessing questions ??

Hey, I was wondering what the science behind like picking an answer and then your brain convincing you it’s the wrong answer and then you go back and it was the answer you had originally thought because I’m doing a reading practice and I missed the questions I missed. I originally had the right answer circled, but for some reason, I convinced myself out of that question so I was wondering if anyone knew how to stop that

Last minute July change

My July test got switched to paper last minute from computer. The only thing I’m worried about is the math section because of Desmos, but besides that I feel like it would be good for reading in English because the reading trying to focus on the computer is terrible and like I just feel like I learned more stuff when I annotate..
But I’m definitely worried about the math because most of my math pratice test I legit used desmos . for like half the questions.

Location change from 15 mins away to 1 hr and 10 mins away

I signed up for this test months ago to ensure that I would be able to take the test only 15 mins away from me. 5 days before the test I get a text that there was a location change for the test to now be 1 hr and 10 minutes away from me. I’m fortunate enough to have transportation, but how TF is this allowed? Imagine being low-income and not being able to make it to your ACT because of these changes. This is genuinely the work of shaytan

Actual Enhanced ACT Tests v. Official ACT Practice Tests

I'm studying for the July ACT. I've taken official ACT practice tests (enhanced) and the June 2026 test that actually was administered. I've done much better on the official ACT practice tests than on the actually administered test (e.g., 36 on reading on official practice tests and 26 on reading on the June 2026 test). Has anyone had a similar experience?

Reading

Are there any tips on reading?
I find myself having little to no time, especially with practice tests. I'm really concerned about it because the practice tests only have 3 reading passages, when act has 4 reading passages. I ran out of time while having 3 questions blank on my last passage for the practice (it genuinely gave me a war flashback to my june act when I had to guess for one of the passages cause I had no time).

I'm taking the July act (6 days) and it would be really helpful if people can share any reading strategies or tips they have.

ACT Science and Reading

Ok the ACT is in a few days. I feel way more confident about the English section and I’m like 50/50 with math, but science and reading I’m unsure of. I got a 25 in reading the first time and a 21 in science. Everyone keeps saying different things. Some say read the questions first and skim through the passages to find the answers and others say read before approaching the questions. If you gotten a 34+ in reading and science, what method do you think is best? (Note: I tend to be a slower reader with bad memory but an issue I’ve been having with these 2 sections is that I rush)

Any Tips For Studying For The ACT?

Not sure on how to start this off but I'll get right to the point. Does anyone have tips for studying for the ACT? As my goal Is to get to at least score In the 30s or higher. And memorizing the questions will definitely be difficult for me to.

What are some of the best tips for the reading section?

Hi all! I’ve been grinding out the practice tests lately because I’m scheduled to take the ACT in less than a week now. I’m consistently getting in the 31 to 33 range in reading and I want to know:

  1. How can I get that up and stop missing stupid questions that I seemingly rush on?

  2. How in the world and I supposed to finish on time?(I’m typically 2-3 mins over time consistently)

It seems like even people with lower composite scores can get in the high 30s, so maybe there’s something I’m doing wrong. Reading is the only thing that I’m really worried about as of right now and I’m trying to get a 36 by the September ACT to secure a full-ride at my state school🤞

Please feel free to give me recommendations on any methods that helped you manage time while maintaining correctness. Thanks in advance!

Should I study for the July ACT

Hey yall, I took the June ACT and got a 34 (35 Science, Math, English, 32 in Reading). My parents are forcing me to take it again and I don't really know if I should focus on getting a higher score. I am trying to apply out of the country, and I have to study for another exam that needs at least 6 weeks to study for (exam is on the last day of August). My friends are saying that my 34 is probably enough, and I should focus on the other exam, but I'm honestly not too sure.
