A question for those who have scored well on reading

Ok I’ve heard the strategy is like don’t actually read the text. But how do I do the questions like main idea? And also is this the true strategy? I’ve tried skimming in 2 mins and then answering the set of 9 Qs in 8 mins but I cannot score above a 32 on reading. For reference I scored a 35 on English with zero studying so I’m not like dumb (I think). But just for you, what’s the strat? Did u skim? How long do u skim for? What did u get on reading? All help appreciated

Ella Johnson’s Sweet 16

Ella Zoey Johnson is turning 16. She is having a big birthday party with all of her friends and family. Who came? (This is a long one).

Friends
Best friend: she has known Ella since the girls were 5. They do everything together and know everything about each other. They never take off their matching friendship bracelets. She got her an expensive piece of jewelry,, a refill of her favorite perfume, and her favorite almond chocolates.
Close friend 1: She and Ella go a long ways back to when they started basketball together at age 8. They have been with each other through all their basketball milestones, including making the travel team, all star team, and winning the championships. She got her a pair of super nice basketball shoe’s Ella has been raving about.
Close friend 2: the two always get mistaken for boyfriend and girlfriend, but they’re just really close friends. They always joke and laugh a lot. They often go out to eat. He got her a $100 gift card to her favorite restaurant.
Close friend 3: She also met Ella when she was 5. They always used to play with dolls together and she has a lot of sleepovers with Ella, the best friend, and the girl below. She got Ella two pairs of LuluLemon Shorts.
Close friend 4: Also met Ella when they were five and has lots of sleepovers with her, the girl above, and the best friend. She got Ella a basket filled with her favorite candies and a $25 Starbucks gift card.
Close friend 5: the two only met a year ago on the junior varsity basketball team but she quickly became one of Ella’s closest friends. They sometimes go to the court late at night to shoot and they hype each other up at the gym. She got Ella a LuluLemon bag and a cute AirPod case that Ella has been eying at the store.
Close friend 6: she’s Hispanic and lives three hours away so she doesn’t get to see Ella much, but when they do see each other they always do a lot together. They love trying new cafes, restaurants, and dessert places. She got Ella a custom Spotify plaque nightlight that has a picture of them in the middle and has where you can scan the song at the bottom and listen to it (it’s her favorite song). She also got Ella a dior perfume.
Friend 1: a guy in a friend group of three guys. He’s funny and jokey. Most nonchalant of the three. He’s Asian. Got Ella a $50 Amazon gift card.
Friend 2: the second guy in the friend group of three guys. He’s brunette and loves the beach. Also funny and jokey. He got Ella a pink portable charger because he didn’t know what to get her and he asked and Ella said she needed one.
Friend 3: the third guy in the group of three guys. He’s blonde. Also funny and jokey but the loudest of the 3. And the shortest. He got Ella a Jelly Cat brand stuffed animal.
Friend 4: she’s been a friend of Ella’s since they were 12. Ella wishes they were closer. This girl is black, super kind and friendly to everyone, super pretty, and the smartest kid at school. She’s also really good at volleyball. She got Ella a gold necklace and also a Lulu Lemon bag and wrote her a cute card.
Friend 5: Ella felt bad if she didn’t invite her because she’s friends with a lot of mutual friends and the two still hang out, but she’s always bringing Ella down. She’s short with long, dark brown straight hair. She got Ella a Glossier brand hand cream and lip balm.
Friend 6: she’s a super spunky, funny, energetic kid. She’s also super polite. She’s Asian and short and has a very welcoming presence. She’s very bubbly and best friends with friend #4. She got Ella a $75 Sephora gift card.
Friend 7: she’s on the shyer side. She used to play cello and met Ella in orchestra freshman year, which they both quit after realizing they weren’t very good. She’s blonde with glasses.
Friend 8: a basketball teammate. Her and Ella chat during practice. She’s medium height and has dark hair. She got Ella a Nike hoodie and Nike socks.
Friend 9: another basketball teammate. She’s the life of the party on the basketball team and loves to bake. She baked Ella a dozen hand made cookies with intricate flavors (and they were all delicious) and also gave her a $20 Amazon gift card.
Friend 10: she’s new to the school and doesn’t have many friends, but her and Ella quickly connected over their love of painting. She made Ella a handmade card and made her a painting of them together.

Family
Mom: loves to cook and go shopping and spa days with Ella. She and Ella’s dad picked out a lot of gifts, but her favorite that she picked out was a very cute pair of sneakers.
Dad: introduced Ella to basketball and is super supportive of all of Ella’s aspirations. He picked out a lot of gifts with Ella’s mom but his favorite that he picked out was tickets for the two of them to see an NBA game.
Brother 1: He is 11 years old and he is loud. He likes video games and was jealous that Ella got to see an NBA game even though he got to an MLB game for his birthday. He’s blonde. He got Ella a lipgloss.
Brother 2: He’s 8 years old and loud, but less loud than the other brother and can be very sweet. He made Ella a card and drew pictures on it and got her a stuffed animal bear with a heart on its belly
Aunt 1: she’s the cool aunt and she’s really into books. She got Ella two new young adult romance books, which Ella loves reading and knows her aunt has great taste.

Cousin 1: he is 10 years old and best friends with Ella’s 11 year old brother. He is brunette and likes dinosaurs.
Cousin 2: he is 8 years old and super smart and loves science. He’s much quieter than the rest of the family.
Cousin 3: she is 5 years old and absolutely adores Ella. Every time she sees her, she runs to her to give her a hug. Ella loves it. She made Ella a card with only pictures because she isn’t very good at writing.
Aunt 2: she has short brown hair and always makes the best chocolate chip cookies. The gift from her is from her whole family, which is an expensive ring.
Uncle 2: he loves watching sports a lot more than playing them. He’s funny and laughs a lot and jokes with the kids.
Cousin 4: she’s 11 years old and pretty shy. She has blonde hair and a really great smile. She takes great care of her younger brother.
Cousin 5: he’s 8 and super nice but can be very rowdy. He plays soccer.
Grandma: Ella loves going down to visit her grandparents over the summer. When she visits, her and her grandma always go to new restaurants and go shopping. Her and grandpa gave her $200.
Grandpa: when Ella goes down to visit, her and her Grandpa always go on walks and he loves playing Sudoku with her.

What’s the most stereotypical ocd (like people who think ocd is liking your desk organized) comment or reaction you’ve gotten when you told someone you had ocd?

Like the idea of someone replying “I wish I had ocd then my desk would be clean.” The most stereotyping one I’ve gotten was when I was with my friends and it came up in conversation and I told them and one of my friends positioned her hands so one was higher up than the other and asked “so does this bother you?”

Is it common practice for a therapist to tell a child they think they have OCD but not inform the parents

When I was 9 my therapist told me that she thought I had OCD but didn’t tell my parents and it took me til I was 13 and spending 24 hours in compulsions crying to tell my parents what was happening and get a diagnosis from another psychiatrist. Anyways was in the car with my brother today who recently got an OCD diagnosis from his therapist and that same therapist who told me she thought I had OCD but never told my parents did the same to my brother too! I’m not sure if this is normal and I’m overreacting to her not telling them because she just said I think you have OCD not you have OCD. Anyways if it isn’t normal it’s wild to think she did it to me and my brother.

Act super score question on common app

Ok so I have a 33 single sitting (35 E, 32 R, 32 M) for act and a 34 (35 E, 32 R, 34 M) super score. I am apprehensive to submit the super score bc in the test where I got the 34 M I also got a 31 E and it was the test AFTER I got the 35 E and I wanna do English in college and am looking at ivy leagues (top choice is Yale). I read somewhere that on common app you actually just type in the scores like it asks like highest English highest math whatever, and only AFTER you get in do you need to send the literal test. Is this true? Because if so I probably won’t retake the ACT because they won’t have to see the entire test where I got the 31 English when I apply.

Does anyone else get really uncomfortable with crumbs on tables

Also wondering if this is even part of my OCD. I have diagnosed OCD and one of the things I absolutely can’t stand is dirt on a table. Like if I see crumbs even the slightest few I have to wipe it immediately and even if it’s like just near me and I’m not sitting in that spot it makes me really uncomfortable. On the floor too near it. Like my friend and I went to a cafe and we were going to sit at a table and I’m like we can’t it’s dirty and she was like it’s fine and I genuinely started freaking out because it makes me so incredibly uncomfortable and anxious. (We did not end up sitting there). Another time I went out with my family and I was so uncomfortable sitting at a table with like 2 crumbs on it we just went home because I refused to sit down. Everywhere I go I’ll wipe like any singular crumb of the table I have to wipe every surface before sitting there and even the tiniest crumb just makes me uncomfortable and anxious and stuff.

Do you consider ocd to be neurodivergent?

I’m just curious and in videos and articles I find not one clear answer. Not saying that this Reddit post is me seeking a clear answer, but I’m just curious what you think.

I’m writing a poem and am struggling with language and flow

Tried posting this once and it was labeled as graphic content (unsure why) but that’s why the flair is like that so

It’s using the metaphor of a burning meadow to describe the feeling of a though spiral and being trapped. It’s gonna have 4 sections but currently I have 3. I kinda want the sections to be longer too but then I feel like I’m tryna like squeeze juice from an empty orange. I like my first section but nothing after is hitting me quite like it..

I.
lavender sleeps in a peach-colored sky.
it breathes with me, on me, my heartbeat moving in retrograde.
sedate my limbs, languidly sinking into the grass.
soft halos caressing my skin, melting my thoughts
into a viscous honey. i want to put a straw to the sky
and suck the sun like juice.
II.
baby grass winces beneath weighing rays. tickles my arms, too warm to the touch.
i wear lavender-tinted glasses; they scare the crows away.
legs awake just enough to taste the ground.
orange. my legs don’t like citrus.
III.
green into brown. flakes from the bottom up.
charcoal descends upon lavender.
broken roots and charred fuzz. try to move
devoid an arm.
peach to blood orange. honey dripping down my throat.
charring.
freezing.

I wrote this poem last night and would like to hear what you think.

I also don’t have a rlly good title for this lol

I dreamt of dirt,
the smell of baklava,
and the calming shouts of the men
trying to sell us mangoes.
An ancient kiosk
to absolve us of sin
(it worked for me),
grape slushies,
old friends,
bracelets from the holy wall,
to bring us down to earth
and raise the unfortunately fortunate.
Pick up some baklava to share,
sticky and sweet in my fingers.
The shouts so longed for,
feeling like those old friends;
but we pass.
My dad’s allergic to mangoes.

AP score

I got a 4 on AP music theory… there is subscores for this exam. My aural subscore (for all of the ear training stuff) was a 4, and my non aural (for the non hearing multiple choice and for the part writing) was a 5 (aural is weighted more, I believe 55% to 45%) my school is very stingy on APs so this is the only one I was able to take (I just finished sophomore year) I wanna go to an HYPSM (not as a music major, although I’m very involved in music/band stuff). Should I report this score, especially if by the time I apply I’ll only have 3 scores? (Next year the only 2 APs I can take are Calc AB and something else, which I picked Psychology) (as a senior I’ll be taking more, but obviously the scores won’t be there. I’m taking a lot of IB though). Additionally, do you know if colleges can see the two subscores?
