25th and final AP exam. What a journey.

Today I took AP Biology, my 25th and final AP exam. For four years, AP exams have been a way to prove myself when I struggled in class, a standard I could easily abide by when following obscure lectures became difficult.

I didn't like where the journey ended, and my college decisions have forced me to apply again next year. But I am proud of the process. I am proud that I preserved through the challenges I faced. And I would not hesitate to undergo it again if I could.

Late exam felt ... easy?

I self registered for this exam and then completely forgot abt it, then I panicked and scheduled it late and forgot about it again. I basically studied units 1, 2 and like half of three in the month before, and then I crammed everything the day before. Idk I thought it would like kick my ass but it wasn't that bad. Are the cutoffs really that low? Albert makes it seem like I got a guaranteed five.

How do I self study and prep myself for AP Bio next school year?

I'm becoming a junior next year and interested in taking AP Bio the following school year. I've never taken a Biology class before, but planning on familiarizing myself with the topic during the summer. I heard Khan Academy is too easy and doesn't go as in depth. What are sources I can use to self study? Any tips for AP Bio?

am i on track to get a 4/5

hey everyone! im taking the late exam on the 20th. Ive been self studying ap bio for the past few months, using resources like apbiopenguins, mr poser, knowt, fiveable. Ive done the 2013 past paper, other than that only the practice questions in my textbook (princeton review). The PR questions seem a lot more difficult than any other college board questions ive seen. The first 2 exams i did were pretty bad, but recent one was decent (47/60) - mcq. My question is, im really stressed about FRQ, especially the graphs/data analysis. Im practicing as much as i can but i use online ap score calculators (albert.io) to see how much i need for a 5 and im scared ill do well in mcq, but lose out more than half of the points in frq. What should i do? Sorry this is so long, TIA◡̈

For the LATE testers.. Skill Check before you go.

Skill Check Questions

As many of you may have noticed, part "A" of FRQ tend to focus on general facts from the course. I always refer to these as "Skill Check" questions, as they're very direct and require straightforward content knowledge.

I decided to compile a modest list of questions that could arise from each unit for anyone taking the late AP Bio exam!

Feel free to request any answers for specific questions, and I'll try my best to keep on top of this thread.

Good luck!

What do I do if I fail

Hey so I'm pretty confident that I'm max getting a 3 but I think I was on track for a 2. My career outlook is between engineering and business so I feel like biology doesn't rlly fall as a priority ap in either of those. Idk if I should consider retaking the exam bc i had content mastery but it was hard for me to recognize the 'pattern' and understand those questions and it was also my first ap exam so...

Rn I'm looking to just not report that score and keep the GPA boost but asides from that, taking ap bio again plus my other aps for junior year does not seem like a good idea but lmk what yall think.

Campbell Biology In Focus 3rd or 4th edition

I am in need of one of these textbooks and was wondering if anyone had it? I saw a post from a few years ago, but nobody has responded

Is it possible to get a 5?

i'm taking the ap bio test on the retake day (wednesday the 20th). i did great with unit tests throughout the year and scored the highest among my classmates, averaging a score of ~90-93%. i kind of feel like though my teacher would select the easier questions (though still official collegeboard ones) and i'm worried that i might not be able to get as high of a score on the actual exam in part because of that (though i am still partially to blame). i feel like i understand pretty much all of the content. i also do pretty good on khan academy practice tests. but a lot of the times when i'm doing old mcqs and frqs for practice, i don't perform as well. i feel like i really get caught up in the long prompts as i really struggle with reading comprehension and picking up every single detail when reading or i put too much weight into small, unrelated or unnecessary details. i also was never really taught about experimental design or graphing, so those are also some of my weak areas.

i've been following the ap bio penguins 10 days until the exam plan and it's kind of helped but when i do the practice i'm getting like 70-75% max when i combine frq and mcq scores. is there anything i can do to improve my scores? or are there any tips for the questions specifically with the long prompts or about experimental design?

Does the test actually have AP stats?

I'm doing the Unit 5 Progress Check right now and there is so much AP stats stuff like degrees of freedom and chi square which I frankly do not remember how to do since AP stats was a while ago. However if I look on the CED I cannot even find anything about chi squares or degree of freedoms. Are these skills I actually need to know for the AP exam or just some progress check bs, were they on this year's test?

My test is next week so I am still studying.

AP Bio Frq/Unit advice

Hello guys... ok I'm going to be so honest, i have been so locked out ap bio becuz its senior year and its my first period class at the butt crack of dawn... regardless it is my fault for not studying enough through the year

For the FRQs: Are there any units I should specifically study for each question? For example, question 3 always corresponds with unit 4 or 5, etc? Are there any trends like that? What websites can I use to find this or find topics that correspond to specific questions?
