Side effects after taking Biktarvy outside of the 72h window (TW)
On the first of August I was celebrating my bday and got drugged and gang-assaulted.
After that I was so down I couldnt even move, my parents came to pick me up to go to the hospital etc together. She explained when it happened (Saturday) and they gave us an appointment for tuesday, when we went they gave us a seperate appt for the medication aspect for wednesday. When we arrived there they told us the 72hour limit to take pep is over (because they made us wait another day) and it wont be effective anymore. My mom asked her pharmacist friend what he’d do and he said if it was his daughter he’d still buy it, so she did and paid out of pocket (Biktarvy).
Since I’ve been taking it everything is going downhill. I got sick (respiratory system), my skin is awful, I keep getting small pimple like bumps everywhere, I have no energy or appetite, but the worst is my teeth/ mouth area.
Suddenly my teeth hurt and my gums are receding, red and inflamed, it hurts so bad I cant even use my water flosser. I feel like I’m watching my teeth deteriorate in front of my eyes.
It was 3 men who had their way with me for hours and I couldnt do anything, I had wounds in my private area, so I was really counting on this preventing a possible infection. But since the window passed and I’m getting bad sideeffects I’m thinking of stopping the treatment, at the same time all of my symptoms could be bc of a possible hiv infection so maybe continuing to take it could help in some way? I’m so lost and confused so any tips or personal opinions are appreciated. Thank you for reading.
