Is a $3,779 property damage reasonable for this accident?
I accidentally hit a parked truck while backing up. He had a few shallow scratches in his plastic bumper. I had a few paint scratches on my vehicle, which I don't care about because mine is old. No dents. I just find out my insurance had to pay out $3,779 to him in damages, and now it's more difficult for me to find affordable insurance rates because of the high cost of the payout. Is this crazy or reasonable? Unfortunately I can't find the photo of the damage but I have attached here an image I found on google that's comparable.
