If BF had different clothes in EXE week like GF in Vs. Sonic.exe mod

If Girlfriend has other clothes in EXE week, why doesn't Boyfriend? So I decided to do some justice for Boyfriend!

A little about his appearance.

He still has his red cap and red sneakers. He is wearing a cyan hoodie and brown jeans with a blue belt.

(OMG, HE LOOKS SO ADORABLE AND CUTE IN THE FIRST PICTURE)

I think, hating and insulting newcomers who have just joined the fandom, especially if they are minors, is NOT normal.

Bullying, insults, and the aggressive "driving out" of newcomers are not normal behavior, but rather a toxic phenomenon that many communities face. Unfortunately, due to the growing popularity of the internet and algorithms that fuel arguments to boost engagement, this has become a common problem.

Some fans justify this attitude by citing a desire to "protect" the lore from superficial understanding. However, in reality, such behavior is often dictated by entirely different reasons:

"I Was Here First" Syndrome: Some longtime fans feel elitist simply because they discovered a work before it became mainstream. They feel that newcomers "don't deserve" to be featured.

Fear of change: Fear that new members will change the established rules, culture, or inside jokes of a community.

Overprotection (especially towards minors): Concerns that younger fans might not understand the work's specific themes or online safety rules translate into unconstructive aggression rather than helpful advice.

Whether you encounter this on Discord, Reddit, Twitter, or other platforms, it's important to remember that communities are designed to bring people together based on common interests, not to create elite hate clubs. A healthy fandom space is built on respect.

Guys, I understand that you want to make angst FNF mods. But if you overdo it, it will turn out to be complete bullshit. I'm serious.

A penchant for angst, despair, drama, and intense emotional turmoil, can sometimes devolve into a cliché. When authors overdo the dark themes, the mod risks becoming "edgy," where the situation is so tragic and hopeless that it elicits bewilderment or laughter rather than empathy.

Here are a few reasons why excessive angst often kills the vibe of a mod and turns it into "complete bullshit."

Too much drama and tears: Constant suffering, depression and blood on screen become boring. If Boyfriend or Girlfriend cries or suffers without any light moments, the contrast itself is lost.

Killing lore for shock value: Character deaths, their transformation into monsters, or suicides have become so common that players stop taking them seriously.

Boring gameplay: In pursuit of the plot, the creators sometimes forget about the very essence of a rhythm game. Tracks that are too slow, dull, or overloaded with spammy notes make the experience feel stuffy rather than emotional.

Good angst is built on contrasts and clever white comfort (hurt/comfort), when a dark song is followed by emotional relief.

I don't mean to offend anyone; it’s just that this trope is heavily overused in mods, and players have simply grown tired of the repetition.

When the same device—or trope—appears in every other mod, it loses its greatest strength: the ability to surprise and evoke genuine emotion. What occurs is a sort of "trope burnout."

That's why the FNF fandom is currently reacting so strongly to yet another dark mod:

Conveyor belt effect: When one high-quality sad mod (like Mario's Madness or Sonic.EXE back in the day) becomes a hit, hundreds of authors begin copying its formula, turning the unique idea into a cliché.

Predictability: Players already know the plot. If everything is going well at the beginning of the mod, by the third song someone is bound to go crazy, turn into a monster, or die. It's getting boring to play.

Emotional numbness: When creators constantly crank up the drama to the max, the human brain simply adapts. Shock content and tears no longer work because there's too much of them.

Ultimately, the mods that win are those that offer something new: high-quality humor, unusual gameplay mechanics, or simply the cozy, inviting atmosphere that fans have long missed.

(Damn, I feel like I'm writing a whole article...)

I think the version of Boyfriend that people hate is Mario's Madness V2 Boyfriend! 'Cause he's a crybaby in there, but I like him ^^

The version of Boyfriend from Friday Night Funkin': Mario's Madness V2 is definitely one of the most heavily debated and targeted versions of the character in the community. While the vanilla game portrays Boyfriend as a completely fearless, cocky, and borderline mindless "goober," Mario's Madness V2 breaks his plot armor entirely. Many fans do get frustrated with him in this mod, but looking closer at why he acts that way makes it clear why he is a great version of the character.

Why People Call Him a "Crybaby"

Unlike standard FNF where he just beeps away without a care, MMV2 forces Boyfriend to show genuine panic, sweat, and absolute horror.

In songs like Demise and All-Stars, he is visibly crying, sobbing, and grieving. For players used to a Boyfriend who easily wins every scenario with the power of rapping, seeing him emotionally break down rubs some the wrong way.

The community is highly divided over the ending where Ultra M destroys his remaining lives and kills him. Some players felt it made his entire struggle pointless.

Why He is Actually Amazing

Despite losing his mind to fear, he never stops singing. Even when Girlfriend is killed and turned into an undead puppet right in front of him, he chooses to stand his ground against a literal god in All-Stars Act 4 out of sheer anger and love. That isn't being a crybaby, that is pure bravery.

Having BF show real emotion gives the mod an actual sense of danger. It makes the horror aspect feel real instead of just another Friday for him.

This is completely valid that you like him!

Giving him actual human flaws and emotions makes his final stand much more tragic and impactful than if he just shrugged everything off.

Boyfriend (without cap) and Girlfriend in my style!

I add a neck and ahoge to them. In the original, they don't have a neck, and it's also not confirmed that Boyfriend has an ahoge, lol :D

I have a question for the whole FNF fandom.

What is the point of making mods where Boyfriend and Girlfriend suffer emotionally, especially Boyfriend, only to have the couple killed off brutally, with the claim that there’s no sequel and their souls now belong to their killer, leaving them to suffer for eternity? Seriously, I’m over it; this scenario is played out.

The main problem with mods where Boyfriend and Girlfriend die at the end is that the conclusion fails to deliver the sense of satisfaction or accomplishment that should follow completing the whole thing. Instead, the couple’s sudden death hits you much like failing a song would, rendering your entire journey through the story ultimately pointless. What was the point of clearing every song without dying if you’re going to die at the end anyway? You might as well have just quit the game after failing a song.

Okay, I'm done.

One unfair detail in the Final Destination franchise

For screenwriters, killing off protagonists at the end of a film, a device known as the "Grim Ending" trope, is the easiest way to keep a franchise afloat. They aim to convey a single message to the audience: "Death cannot be defeated forever; it can only be briefly postponed." Yet, this is precisely what makes Kimberly Corman stand apart. The film Bloodlines officially confirmed that Kimberly is still alive. This makes the deaths of Alex, Wendy, Nick, Sam, Iris and Stephanie feel even more unfair: why did Death let Kimberly walk away while destroying the others with such particular cruelty?
