Never seen this in one before. RIP to all those lost in the DoubleDee estates :(
I have a 2008 Prius with 155K miles. I feel like this thing could have a lot of time left if it wasn't for the crumbling rust I found underneath those plastic panels that cover the very rear rocker panel, near the rear pinch welds. I'm pretty devastated but I'm glad I found this before I dumped money into a brake actuator. I had just gotten new brakes, inverter pump, spark plugs, tires, etc. I don't think I'd get much for it with the rust and actuator that's on its way out, but it doesn't have a ton of miles and I still get good gas mileage so I'm thinking at this point somebody might want it for a parts car? Especially since it has the original catalytic converter, gas bladder that still gets 10 gallons of fill, and such. The car isn't totally junk from a parts point of view. I'm at the point where I just think I need to get a new car. What do you think something like this would go for as a parts car? And is that reasonable?
So i found a garage that said they'd look at my car and consider installing a brake actuator that i purchased myself (most garages said no, which i understand, but they wanted to mark up the part by 1k.)i know the part goes for about 1400-1700 roughly, and i see some online but obviously i want to make sure i get the right one. OEM quality. And hey, if you know any legit sites that have good prices and sales, let me know! Thanks!
