Good people at r/friendlymonarchs teaching about beneficial insects to counter auto-hate

I love that the mods are educating monarch butterfy enthusiasts that hating on beneficial insects like wasps isn't the best way to support monarchs.

Easy fix?

"Temporary" steps built right up against the new cedar siding, come winter, will this cause a problem w snow?

How to improve this situation given the steps might be there a bit. The stringer below goes right up to the edge. Dont think there's flashing.
