I dont know if this is vintage enough for this sub

Just picked this Smithy 1220 lathe and mill combo.

Every surface was rusted and every action was frozen, broken belts you name it.

A couple cans of WD40, a scraper, some scotch rite, and a heavy deadblow hammer and it's all functional. Downloaded the manual and picked up some tooling from a buddy. Ready to make some chips!

Friend wanted to show me his Buck

Handed me a box with a sheath and I was expecting another vintage 110, maybe a 112, not this piece of sharp art.

Started organizing erenches

I had four plus drawers of wrenches, spread out between two boxes and a cart. Standard and metric all mixed, total chaos to find anything. Starting a new job soon concentrated on pre 75 American cars. Going to try to eliminate one of my big boxes.

All but the last pic are metric. Sorted ans stored, but not clean.

Last Pic is SAE wrenches needing sorting.

Hi fellows. Im mostly a wood turner and use oils and waxes for finishing. Wanted to make this table look better. Managed to not sand through the very thin veneer, except where there was water damage. Put some ebony stain on, then some oil based spray poly, cause it looked easy. The second coat of poly I put on too heavy and had to do a lot of sanding to get the runs out. Went too deep and into the stain at a couple points. Put more stain and was amazed that, after wiping it super good, the poly stuck fine. Not wanting to have to go through all that again I proceeded to apply thin coats of spray poly.

The issue im having is pictured. Seems like too light of coats where the finish looks sporadic. I did smooth it with 0000 steel wool a couple of coats ago but subsequent coats, I used the whole can, keep looking like this. I learned from an automotive painter to "wet" the whole surface with paint, but when I try to do that with the poly it runs. Can this be buffed/rubbed out? Should i lightly sand abd buy anot6can of poly? Should I lightly sand and put a coat of shellac? I have both manual and spray, should I try floor wax? Thanks for looking.

I think there is one here for every year I have been alive. Guess my birthday and I'll give you a "knife".

(One winner).
