Basic Questions on cm

Q: Are all cm have a strong heart to face all the community things? Or perhaps I am just too fragile personally?

BG: I have a little technical & product & user views/vibes. It’s hard to reconcile the inconsistency here and there, always.

I can translate emotional community pain points into feature requests and prioritization roadmaps. The point is, users complaints hurt me sometimes despite that it’s not my product or my fault.

Also, it’s hard to handle with devs. Some of them are unprofessional, pompous and defiant. They introduced bugs and caused community disasters. They don’t know how to deal with users’ emotions. But they have the right to interrupt my work, they “inform” me to deal with the community post. Ridiculous.

Long story short, all things torment me at the same time.

I am gonna to quit but is it the issue of me or just this title?

Does anyone else feel like the consumer side of our niche is stalling?

* In order not to waste time with strangers, if you don't like to watch long sentences with AI participation, please ignore this article.

The thoughts of the article are my true thinking, but some long sentences have been rewritten.

Hey everyone, just wanted to share some thoughts and see if others feel the same.

There’s something strangely backward-looking about this industry right now. We know the main source supplier has really great revenue numbers overall, but the followon vendors seem completely focused on powering up the B2B side (like SaaS, store labels and commercial signage). Meanwhile, the direct-to-consumer market feels a bit lackluster lately.

Hopefully, the doom and gloom of the recent layoffs we've seen in the space won't befall other device makers. It feels like we're hitting some clear technical bottlenecks, and there’s a real lack of momentum and growth when it comes to premium personal consumer goods. Not to mention, it can still be frustrating to deal with some of the more unprofessional startups and inconsistent customer service we occasionally see in this space.

My biggest worry: might this be a heavy blow for those of us trying to escape eye-unfriendly screens? Given the absolute prevalence of standard glowing electronics everywhere else, there really isn't much extra focus on "eye health" globally, except in this specific industry.

If the consumer side continues to stagnate or shrink, it's a huge loss for the people who genuinely rely on this tech for reading (and working?) comfortably.

Would love to hear your thoughts. Are you guys feeling optimistic about the consumer hardware right now, or are we in a bit of a slump?
