Is this what it has come too?

So I fastpass a specific webtoon and the community has quite a reputation. (None of it good)

Generally I like the comic itself but the readers...well this comment should be a good indication of the problems amongst the other issues surrounding it. Not only does the webtoon hardly have consistant updates which is not the authors fault entirely, but this specific take rubbed me the wrong way.

Hiding the user and not mentioning the name of the WT simply because the fandom has been known to lurk on these pages to see if anyone has trashed talked it.

Which is funny given their stance on the latest release.

So this user had a very delusional premise about people who dislike comments. There are regular dislikes that probably reach between 2 to 8 max. Some more or less depending on the take. Results will vary dependant on the episode or character that the discussion involves.

So this is what they wrote.

"These 4 regular dislikers spend so much time to go out of their way and stalk, their dedication is commendable. They are downvoting new comments on episode 290

(this weeks regular episode)"

Replies underneath:

"Seriously it blows my mind someone is willing to do that in all in a webtoon comment section"

Another reply: "that too while paying..."

So here is my humble opinion.

One. Paying for something gives someone more of a right to be critical. If you buy a movie and its bad, nobody is obligated to automatically like it and you should have a right to voice displeasure with it. There have been movies I paid for that were an absolute waste of time and funds. Where is this mentality even coming from?

Two. Are 4 dislikes really ruining the experience that much. Funny how they call it out and refer to it as stalking when I know for a fact the fandom itself consistently lurks and the user went out of their way to seek out those comments with the dislikes. (The sad part is they are just quietly disliked, no arguments or disagreements. Someone tapping a button apparently is causing them unease, turmoil, and stress.)

Three. Are they really trying to imply every comment are all good takes? Besides even if there were not, I really loathe how readers adapted this outlook that not sharing the same braincell is some how unfair. Like if you fastpass, you need to always agree and have a one size fits all opinion. Which is funny considering some of the dumber mindless takes always gets hundreds or dozens of likes.

There is no part of me that can even fathom what kind of entitlement or need for validation this user is expecting. It's so unrealistic. Wanting to believe their webtoon is flawless and everyone should automatically get along. But in the real world and not one created on a tiny little screen online, common sense would typically negate this perspective because that is just on a whole other level of being unable to cope and being incapable to be unbothered.

Watch someone find this from that subreddit and know what I am referencing because thats how unhinged and protective they are of this comic and their own beliefs. No one can be allowed to think badly of them or disapprove of the webtoon itself cause they think themselves superior and above any valid critiques.
