volunteer conflict of interest while waiting for clearance?
New to this sub, sorry for the inconvenience. Already talked to everyone I knew at Raytheon, my clearance officer said they don't know and directed me to hiring manager, my hiring manager said it is up to me but would give me a conflict of interest.
I recently accepted an offer at Raytheon, submitted my SF86 but interim clearance is not granted, meaning I would have to wait for full clearance. Interestingly, an organization (Defense Tech for Ukraine) I applied two months ago reached out to invite me as a volunteer. I'm a huge fan of Raytheon and honestly don't want to lose this job, but also want to contribute to Ukraine's freedom. Has anyone deal with simular things before? Can I work voluntarily for Defense Tech for Ukraine before I officially join Raytheon?
