LR Discovery 4 Quirks

Just coming up to the end of my first week of ownership and it's definitely got some quirks and some idiosyncrasies.

  1. After driving approximately 15 miles, sometimes more, sometimes less, the warning light comes on.

  2. Before or after the suspension warning light comes on, I can pretty much guarantee that "Restricted mode" warning will come on.

Both go off when the car is turned off and is restarted, only to appear again after about 15 miles.

  1. It's also self fixing, as the engine warning light has come on, only to disappear again when I filled up with diesel. It was only half full and given how much it cost to fill it up, I would say the gauge is relatively accurate.

  2. Three of the four air vents in the dash are working, #3 (next to the driver's left hand in a UK RHD vehicle) isn't working, yet all the dials appear to be set the same.

  3. If I manually lock the driver's door from the passenger side, then shut the passenger door and lock it using the key fob, then it locks. If I don't manually lock the driver's door and try just using tkey fob, I get two beeps and the car remains unlocked.

  4. When locking, the wing mirrors tuck in, when unlocking, they may, or they may not, return to the correct position.

Other than those things, I'm pretty happy but, I can't help but fear the worst! Now seeking reassurance that catastrophic implosion isn't #7 on the list!

Love Fire Cover

I was out last night and one of the opening tracks was a cover of Aswad's Love Fire but with what sounded like, to my untrained ear, a trombone taking the lead. Production wise, sounded fairly modern and done in a bit of a steppas style. I was thinking OBF but does anyone have any better ideas?

After seeing Prince Fatty and Horseman at the weekend, I was stumbling around on You Tube and came across a clip of Horseman and Cheshire Cat and it got me wondering. Why is it that, people like him who are linked to sound systems, don't get recognition when others do? He's as talented as say, Tippa Irie, likewise, someone like Roger Robin when Maxi Priest crosses over.
