If you had to make a character that did have ties to Chult or a background from Chult, what would it be?

Just a fun question. The campaign recommends not having ties to Chult and making characters from other places to keep that foreign and unknown feel. But if you had to make one that was indigenous to chult, what would it be and what would their backstory be?

How do I help my players be more adventurous?

As the title says, my players are smart and were really excited to try this campaign, and I’ve added a decent amount of homebrew stuff related to their characters and interests, but they’re overly cautious about basically everything.

It’s not that they’re afraid of dying and using their next character, I told them about it ahead of time and they joke throughout playing “whelp time to get my backup ready”, but faced with anything that could *remotely* turn into something dangerous they approach it painstakingly slow, almost minmaxing wanting to make sure they do it right and not get hurt.

I think it’s smart that they’re trying to save resources and spells but after a certain point I’m like come on guys you have to do something. Assume everything in the jungle wants to kill you and be prepared for that. But they think that they can outsmart it and get around it, and I feel like we don’t get much done in our sessions because they spend so much time trying to find the perfect solution.

Is a crown necessary (as in urgently needed) for a large filling that was done a year ago?

Went to the dentist today and was told that everything looked good regarding my gums and very little plaque, but that the large composite filling I had to get in one of my top molars last year has “shrunk” and will continue to shrink because it was so large and would require a crown eventually, so they recommended being proactive and doing it sooner than later (as in next week because they had a last minute cancellation).

I’m skeptical of dentists because of a very bad experience my family member had with one that was not legit, so I’m wondering if this is truly something that needs to be fixed immediately or can wait. I’ve had several fillings in the past and I’ve never had anyone say they need to be crowned <1 year after being done. As a young person in their late 20s I’m surprised a crown is necessary now.

I don’t have any pain or other problems with the tooth that was filled, so I’m wondering if the dentist is simply giving me the best option here for risk management in the future, but I could be fine for several more years? My dental insurance is ass and I’d have to pay like $800 out of pocket, plus I know crowns fall off so I’d prefer not to do this unless it’s absolutely necessary.

I had a period of 2-3 years where I didn’t have a dentist so when I started going I had a few cavities to fill (admittedly I wasn’t flossing or brushing as much as I should have been, but still brushing at least twice the vast majority of days), but generally surprised that such an extreme measure is coming out of the blue when I wasn’t told this would be a possibility when they did the filling (maybe they did but I zoned out during the filling process idk).

Thanks in advance!
