SKRAM construction help (Panel E or Panel D removable?)

Looking over the schematics, Panel E goes within Panel D. I've been told in the past to make Panel D removable, but I've seen other people just make the "Access Hatch" (Panel E) removable. What is your recommendation?

Reach out to artists if ya feel like it

Let's be honest, there is barely any money in this genre unfortunately. Producers spend a lot of time for the sake of the art or their own outlet. Just wanted to make this post to reminds everyone you can always send an artist a message about a track you liked by them or specific parts of their sound that resonate with you. Helps the morale and really can be the difference of someone giving up their craft or continuing their craft, especially the lesser known artists.

Lots of the members here are pretty good about buying tracks and supporting the community in unique ways, but I figure its an important reminder!

Edit: obviously use your judgment if an artist doesn't want to receive messages haha

Recently came across a collection of books called "Technologies of Lived Abstraction"

You may see all here, along with purchase links. https://mitpress.mit.edu/series/technologies-of-lived-abstraction/

In short:

Book 1
The Rhythmic Event
Art, Media, and the Sonic

An investigation into the affective modes of perception, temporality, and experience enabled by experimental new media sonic art.

Book 2
Sonic Warfare
Sound, Affect, and the Ecology of Fear
by Steve Goodman

An exploration of the production, transmission, and mutation of affective tonality—when sound helps produce a bad vibe.

Book 3
Contagious Architecture
Computation, Aesthetics, and Space
by Luciana Parisi

A proposal that algorithms are not simply instructions to be performed but thinking entities that construct digital spatio-temporalities.

Books 4-7 can be seen in the link above. I think you may like 👍

Unknown Perception, wow!

Just got back from a weekend of insane vibes. This event blew me away from the curation to sound system tuning, to the crowd that attended, and the scheduling. Real good vibes all around. Just have to say there was a point when Mary Yuzovskaya was playing a track with a baseline of tiger purrs and croons and the moon started to emerge from from fog (120am). This setting is a real treat for our style of electronic. Super primal.

Every artist absolutely killed it from start to finish.

1 hour from LA tucked away in the mountains, max capacity 300, experienced music enthusiasts, sound from Friday 12pm - Saturday 8am, Saturday 12pm - Sunday 2pm the lineup was just unreal for an event this small.

If you come, be prepared for sunset to sunrise sets.

I may write a longer post sometime this week while it is still fresh in my mind. Have to process it first. Thank you Reform, 6am, Synthetik, and Dirty Epic!

Completely unique experience for some serious good techno.

I don't really take photos/videos at events, but here is one that was captured just to show the vibe.

That is all!!

Edit: Would love to see in the future artists like Space Drum Meditation and others in that tribal circle for a sunrise set.

Starting a label. What is the standard for royalties?

Curious what the norm is.

Do most labels offer royalties in techno? 50/50 on purchases? How frequently are they sent? For remixes too or no?

Thank you.

Interior paint for subs

Building SKRAMs, I will be using Line-X on the exterior. For the interior, what is recommended? I know for JMODs, people like to use exterior house paint, but does that make sense for the inside of SKRAMs? Should Line-X also be used on the inside? This system will be used in the desert so I can expect sand to possible get into the subwoofer.

I will be getting Line-X done after it is built (different person spraying it). I know once its built, you can't really get it painted on the inside.. How should I approach this? The person building it can paint the inside but not with Line-X.

Also, has anyone built a cage/screen for SKRAMs to keep it clean?

On an abandoned city bus somewhere in the desert (Phoenix, AZ)

Had a lot of fun with this one. Started out deep and jumped between a few subsubgenres as I increased energy.

Deep, groovy, and textured techno.

Feedback welcome!

Visuals by me.
