I have an extra torium 16 that I want to set up to learn to SPJ. What budget rod/action would you recommend for fishing out of morro bay?

I’m looking at the talavera M ? Am I wasting my money, should I just spend a little more? Should I go heavier?

What’s the best way to dial in my antenna location? Is there an app that instantly shows strength to nearest repeater? Or should I just keep adverting and moving around?
