Close-Quarters Destructible City Combat!
To kick it off, I know it's ugly and unpainted, but I'm excited to share it anyway. On that note, I welcome recommendations for how to quickly paint many small-scale buildings to look anything better than 'bleh'.
I've wanted to playtest some ideas around dense city skirmishes and designed some 10mm scale terrain to that end. Of course, everything is destructible because you can't have a proper fight in a city without knocking a few buildings down. Everything is magnetized to avoid bumping things while playing and bombing them to bits. These are some shots of a small test game I ran. The defensive forces just eked out a win by using an overwhelming infantry presence to harass the attackers from buildings, which couldn't be brought down fast enough. Based on this test it looks like I'll need some indicator for when units are in lower floors of buildings (or use rules that have everyone on top and just consider them 'inside' for gameplay purposes).
All the terrain is designed by me, but all the units are designed by The Lazy Forger. If you think they're cool in the slightest their work is worth checking out.
