First Refill with Ola

Even though I really wanted to try the Hyalo with Glycine option I decided to do my first refill with Ola and Drug Crafters anyways. I've been pretty successful with Drug Crafters and am on Week 12 having lost 28.9 pounds so far with only 4.5 total pounds of muscle loss. I have absolutely been more active since I started the journey mostly because I feel better which means I'm able to do more. For the first time since 2019 I am maintaining a stable blood pressure without being on medication and my water percentage has finally ticked up into a normal level because I'm no longer taking that diuretic. I definitely made some changes to what I put into my body and have really focused on that protein intake to keep myself from losing muscle mass. Essentially I have had zero side effects but I have slowly titrated up in dosage to keep those side effects at a minimum and have had a few occasions where I did allow myself to eat something other than the high protein diet without experiencing any negative side effects. I'm no longer a fan of greasy deep fried foods and I hope to remain that way for the rest of my life. I've also managed to stay away from Cosmic Brownies and have only had 1 oreo since I started this journey although I can usually tell when I am needing to step up my dose because I start craving junk food and last time it was massive Snickers bar cravings.

I've noticed a few changes to Ola since my last order. It appears that my DC refill will ship monthly instead of all at once which is fine with me as I have enough that I won't run out even if my shipment didn't go out on time. My doctor did have some follow up questions this time. One of which was sort of surprising, the doctor asked about my gallbladder issues noted in my chart only I'm fairly certain that I mentioned it was removed in my intake as I swear I had to tell them my previous surgeries when I filled out the intake but I could be wrong because I was going to start with prescription Zepbound through Noom until I discovered my insurance won't cover it and that they charge a ridiculous fee for the telehealth essentially and some other things they offer that I can get through other apps for free. So needless to say maybe I confused the two intakes in my head. Once I answered that question I was then asked about dosage which I answered and then they filled the prescription. All together 4 hours from when I sent the refill request, to the prescription being issued. As always another successful and positive experience with Ola! Hoping my experience with Drug Crafters is the same as last time because that was awesome as well!

First Injection Done!

Almost two years ago now a former co-worker and I started to talk about weight and how she was starting on Zepbound. I told her to let me know how she did on it and she told my all the ugly side effects she had how she could eat nothing and was miserable all the time. Fast forward to July 2026 and after months of putting my husband's health first( he fell off a ladder at work from 25 feet and broke his tibia and fibula) I struggled with back pain and caretaking and eating my emotions apparently. A few weeks ago I finally decided it was time to do something for me and started researching tirzepatide both compounded and the Zepbound. My pocketbook couldn't afford the Lilly Direct prices, my insurance won't cover it, and I liked the idea of compounding with Glycine. So I took the plunge and ordered the meds and tonight I gave myself my first injection, it was easier to stab myself with a needle than I thought it would be actually I've got tons of experience giving blood thinning injections to my husband through one compound femur fracture and now this years tibia/fibula fracture but thought it would be hard to inject myself.

Earlier today I stepped on the scale to log my weight and nearly cried seeing the numbers being the heaviest I have ever been in my whole life. I know this was the right decision and I'm hoping the lifestyle changes I make have a positive effect on both myself and my husband as well. I have nearly 60 pounds to lose before I hit my goal weight and I'm hoping to go below that in case I gain any back. I can't wait until I'm not hungry all the time anymore.

Any tips for a newbie and also for anyone with a spouse not on this journey on how you dealt with changing your lifestyle even if they choose not to change theirs with you?

Cross your fingers for me that I have few side effects! I tried to stay hydrated and eat a high protein/fiber low fat dinner before my first injection.

Question

Hi Everyone!

I've been doing a ton of research on the GLP1's and have decided I'd like to try them. I sort of got ahead of myself without doing much research on the cost of it and signed up with Noom not realizing what they were charging me was a "membership" fee. The nurse practitioner sent my script off to Amazon Pharmacy and I got the sticker shock of $299 for one month on the lowest dose. I cannot afford $300 a month or more once I wind up on the higher dosage so I came to reddit to find reliable alternatives and found OlaHealth. Before I commit and pay the $350 for 3 months I just want to be sure there won't be an issue since my script at Amazon is sitting out there and brand new but at that cost I don't plan to fill it. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
