I know there are a lot of these “can I get in this field with xyz” or “what do I need to do to get in this field if I already have xyz” questions on this sub. So instead, I’d like to hear about your stories: how did you get into robotics?

Specifically, where did you start? High school robotics club? Major in CS with robotics projects? Graduate research?

And, where did that take you? Robotics R&D? Hobbyist with day job? Industry full time?

And for all of us dreamers, what tips would you give someone who would do anything to get into the field? Especially if some of us are already in tech jobs in unrelated domains?

Has anyone else been seeing fake accounts spamming the MIT student story? The story says that a student didnt show up to a single class for the entire semester and then studied for 48 hours with notebook lm and passed the test. And then he describes his method where he generates mental models, questions, etc.

This seems like a really good marketing campaign, but I’d like to be proven wrong.
