I have some rather important news to share with you all regarding the old subreddit.

I was approached by the owner of the subreddit with regard to taking it from them, based on their life not being able to accommodate the page anymore.

We have had a discussion and I have taken control of the old subreddit as of today.

This was a choice made with the entire mod team’s approval and looking forward to the future of the OG subreddit is now a priority.

I’m very aware of both the positives and the negatives of the old sub, but there is one thing I can’t deny and that there is the plethora of content and knowledge that exists on that sub that deserves to be accessible.

This is not for anyone to gate keep.

So today I will make the sub live again but strictly as read-only for now. This means that no comments or new content will be added - for now at least.

The future of the sub is unclear still but… I want to know your thoughts on what should happen. It can certainly go live fully again, but that means this sub is void, or alternatively it can operate as an archive and POI.

Over the next few days I, along with the team will take a look at the sub in-depth and you as a community will have to help in deciding the future. It’s only fair as these subs are alive and populated because of you all, joined members or just lurkers alike.

A poll will be ran to allow everyone to vote on what they want, with the majority vote being the deciding choice. This will happen in due course but no timeframe is set as of yet.

Please allow me and the team time to consider all avenues available to us, but I think the freedom of information is the most important thing for the time being.

I’ve been pondering about how we can help to give the community additional support regarding information and guidance, all while I develop the in-house wiki. 💡

And from this, we have developed a new invite only role for the community - ✨ The Isle Expert ✨ - complete with fancy flair! 🎉

This role will be a non-mod role, but you will serve as a beacon of knowledge for all things the isle, helping where you can, when you can.

We as a community will trust your words of expertise, helping those within the feed, sharing your vast knowledge with new and old players alike.

I will be giving more information about how I will go about the selection process soon, so stay tuned. 📺

There will be 3 Isle Expert flairs available.

🚨 Quick update 🚨

The Isle Wikipedia is fast becoming a reality and I’ve been pouring time into making sure it’s comprehensive, suitable for new players and veterans alike.

The wiki will cover an overview of the game, mechanics, system requirements along with as much information my childlike mind can access.

Once it’s finished, I will invite feedback along with updates to any areas that may be inaccurate.

Happy Friday!

There’s lots I’m working on to improve and flesh out this community further than what’s ever been done before, so wanted to share some of what I’m working on.

🔘 - implementation of a wiki-themed page containing FAQs along with hints and tips for beginners alike, featuring things that aren’t so obvious along with system requirements.

🔘 - introduction of more mega threads - themed around certain topics.

🔘 - on-going hunt for a way to pull official updates from The Isle Discord over to here.

🔘- last but not least, I’m currently also in the midst of creating a sister Discord server that will allow the community to talk in realtime vs messages, along with much more interaction and enhanced functionality- I even have a cool mascot lined up! 😂

Please note, the Discord server is a WIP so no timescale on that thus far, but I will provide further updates over time.

As always, thank you to all those who have supported this community so far, it’s so cool to see it being fleshed out by the day!

I did not expect so many of you beautiful people to come and join us so quickly, but I'm very grateful.

Evrima Quick Guide

A big thank you to all those who have either joined, posted or just visited thus far. 🎉

I’m so proud of how this community has grown over the last few days since it’s inception.

I wanted to give people a little further background to my love and passion for the isle.

Ever since I first layed eyes upon a goofy video featuring the Gaming Beaver playing the isle working his way through the progression system I was captivated. I’ve always been a massive dino nerd thanks to Jurassic Park and this was so awesome, I get to be a freaking dinosaur!

Since that first viewing of GB, I was captivated and watched every single video of his, but I still hadn’t played the game myself… until I bought my own PC, purely fueled by the desire to play The Isle.

I’ve been an avid resident of The Isle for over 1,700 hours now and have had many highs and lows in that time. From roaming legacy to transitioning across to Evrima, I’ve loved every single moment.

So much so in fact, I started my own YouTube channel, making videos out of pure passion.

The Isle is not perfect…but neither are we, we all have flaws and sometimes we forget the good stuff and focus on the bad stuff. I’m just grateful for the chance to play the isle and be part of an amazing community.

There’s much to be said about the development of this game, the team behind it and the future, but seeing and experiencing many adventures and challenges that are never the same from one night to the other, I wouldn’t swap the game for anything else.
