New Fantasy Football Game Type and Platform - Portfolio League

Hey All,

I have developed a new Fantasy Football game type that combines all of the fun of Traditional H2H, Dynasty, and Daily Fantasy into a league format. I am calling the game type a "Portfolio League". The basic concept is a Fantasy Sports Stock Market where each player is listed as a stock. your "team" is a portfolio that you put together using the in-app currency, StarCoins (no monetary value), and face off head to head in a traditional league situation. your portfolio can consist of whatever players you want in whatever quantity of shares you want. league-mates can't snipe a player from you in a draft or outbid you by a dollar for that one guy you really wanted. Everyone can buy shares in every player and build their portfolio the way they want. You can even change the players within your portfolio week to week, so you can buy in on that rising star before they really hit the fantasy point gold mine.

Players stock prices go up and down based off of how they perform. The goal, when user trade volume increases, will be to have a free market of buying and selling of the players shares to ultimately determine their price. Each player's value is determined and then divided by a specific number of shares. Known superstars have more shares but also have more value, so their stock price might look lower, but that is because there are more shares on the market. Share fluctuation and number of shares play a key role in how your portfolio scores points in your league.

There are two dynamics at play when building a portfolio that makes playing a Portfolio League the ultimate strategy option for your league. The first is how you score fantasy points. Each week players score their traditional fantasy points amount (0.5 ppr, 6pt TD). Those points are multiplied by a per sport factor (the platform can be multi-sport or single-sport) and then divided by the total number of shares outstanding for that particular player. If you own shares of that player in your portfolio, you get your shares worth of those points. your total points earned for your portfolio is what goes up against your opponent for that week.

The second aspect of strategy, and what really sets this play style apart, is portfolio value growth. If you own player shares and their value increases, you could sell those shares for a profit and in turn increase the amount of StarCoins your portfolio has to invest into other players shares, potentially increasing the amount of fantasy points your portfolio can generate because its value is larger than your opponent.

There is so much more that I can explain in the mechanics and game play for this. I have been developing the core pricing structure and gameplay for almost 3 years now and I finally feel like it is at a place to share. the website is www.startraderplatforms.com and an IOS mobile app is in the process of being approved on the App Store. I will also note, that if you sign up, you receive 2,500 StarCoins for free in a personal account as well as an extra 10,000 StarCoins if you start or join a league. The first time each user joins a league (only once per user) receives up to 10,000 StarCoins to use in that league.

Please comment below with any questions you may have about this play style and I will do my best to answer.

Thanks!
