At Home Sleep Studies

Has anyone done one? I am recommended to do one but not having insurance they want $1k. And all my research shows i will pay for test that will likely not give me results or answers. And I am gonna be pissed if I pay money like that (that I do not have really) and not get answers. I am suspected of a sleep apnea causing sleep deprivation leading to seizures in my sleep AND during the day while driving my car.

Just need some insight on if its worth the financial risk?

This is wild

Hello so i am a newbie and haven't been formally diagnosed yet but all the signs are pointing to a SA. I have been having nocturnal seizures periodically for a little over a year now. Recently had 2 grand mals during the day which prompted seizure treatment etc.

Long story short my seizures were misdiagnosed and I'm getting a sleep study done as all my symptoms highly suspect me having a sleep apnea and the sleep deprivation has triggered all the seizure activity. Anyone else here have a story like this or are aliens experimenting on me at night? Cuz thats what this feels like at this point the last 2 months have been wild 😅🫠

Sleep Apnea

Who has one? Raise your hand! 🙋‍♀️ I found out today i likely have one which started my seizures in the first place (almost all of my seizureshave been nocturnal). Getting a sleep study done beginning of September.

I'm just curious who else has one? What type of apnea?

30 days incident free!

I know its just 30 days. Its been a rough 30 days though. Not driving is destroying my independence 🫠 But I found out today I got a new neurologist! And he is a University of Michigan grad with TONS of awards and achievements. And I won't have to pay a dime to see him 🥹😭

I'm so hopeful now because the ER neurologists who original disagbosed me was nothing but arrogant and wanting to close my file.

Cheers to everyone and their accomplishments no matter how trivial they may seem!

Welp let the social issues begin

Newly diagnosed seizure disorder (not epilepsy) as of 3 weeks ago and I got friends not including me in things because they are assuming flashing lights will affect me. Meanwhile these friends have barely communicated with me in general about my issues and are assuming my triggers and more. If they would TALK to me before assuming things they would know mine is more linked to my possible sleep apnea and metabolic issues and has absolutely nothing to do with flashing lights 🤌

This is very annoying. I am not a fan of ignorance.

Just needed to vent.

UPDATE: friend got defensive when I confronted them like I was trying to make them feel bad. So I kindly told them to piss off.

Deep sleep struggle

Okay so since all my night time episodes (that the neuro completely ignored existing) I am lucky to get 20 mins of deep sleep a night.

Any one else have this struggle? Is their something I could take to help it be better? Like the amount of times I wake up a night is not normal 🤌

Questions about Keppra

Hello! 36F in michigan. So I have been having seizures (we didnt know they were seizures) and recently found out because I had one while driving. Car is fine, I am fine but now im 2000mg keppra a day and obviously cant drive.

We are suspecting high content thc being the trigger as nothing else makes sense. My blood work had low magnesium when I was admitted but bounced back by the time I was discharged.

Eeg was less then an hour and mri came back clear. Neuro I saw in the hospital was arrogant and just blamed alcohol withdraw (which is literally impossible as I had beers the night before) didnt consider our stories of night time episodes etc.

I'm posting this wondering a few things...mainly because I am not confident in my treatment...

  1. Is keppra affective? I have read mixed things online and I am new to having epilepsy episodes.

  2. Has anyone else gone their whole life never having a seizure and suddenly start to? Grand mals to.

  3. Has anyone else experienced THC directly causing grand mals and is it just concentrates?
