THE K250, One ounce Gold Coin in 1978. Only 850 sold at K850 each.
In 1978 the reserve Bank issued a one ounce gold coin. The K250 coin showing Kamuzu on the face and a Nyala on the reverse. Cash price was 850 kwacha. Only 538 were sold apparently.
Today 13th May 2026..using the gold spot price and the prevailing bank rate this coin is worth over 8.5 million Kwacha.
Using Street value now 18 million.
Quite an increase in 48 years.
