Metal box insert with ventilation slots on kitchen wall, kitchen is from 1959

We are renovating at house in an older neighborhood. We know that the kitchen was expanded in 1959. This reddish metal thing is in the wall next to the sink. It has shelves inside, but it opens all the way and the shelves lay down. Theories include bread box, paper towel holder and spice rack, but I can’t visualize it being used as any of them.

Underwire bras will not stay in IMF

I’ve gone back and forth on wearing underwires and (poorly fitting) bralettes. I need an underwire bra but have never found an “all day” fit. The best fitting ones keep slipping out of the IMF and setting about one inch lower. When the wires settle, the bottom curve of the wires jabs painfully into my rib cage. I keep trying to hike the bra back up, but it just heads back down.

Over the years (and size changes), I keep coming back to Panache Envy. It’s the closest I’ve come to a fitting bra. The one I was wearing today (until it hurt too much to keep on) is a 34FF. I also own the same bra in 34G and 34GG. I wear the FF because the wires are narrower and shorter. There wires on the larger sizes are too tall/wide, even though the cups are a better fit for volume. I’ve lost a bit of weight lately and just barely get into the FF. I have short narrow roots, center full, projection.

The band is definitely tight. The back stays put, only the front slides. And I feel it going down. It’s stabbing into my rib cage all the way down. The straps don’t feel too tight, so that’s not it.

Since I’ve lost weight, that could be it, but I’ve had this problem with every underwire bra ever. It’s absolutely worst when driving, but it even happens if I don’t slouch.

The calculator today puts me at 32G. That tracks. So the band might be too loose, but that doesn’t explain every bra ever doing this.
