Change2561 series this year are top of the line

All 3 have gone a little bit under the radar of the general GL fanbase but it's all seriously good and are top-notch. I Wanna Be Sup'tar is the funniest GL series I've ever watched, Hometown Romance is also a romcom gold and it offered a setting that we don't often see in GL series, and Chasing Love is already in my top 5 halfway through 2026 and will be a candidate for my top 10 at the end of the year. They had a few mistakes with blocking and editing but overall Chasing Love is a peak series. And the OST is 🤌 I'm not even skipping the opening and ending credits to listen to that song.

Also all 3 series are funny as hell, after the intensity of Affair and Harmony Secret Change2561 became a GL romcom powerhouse this year.

PS. I love Piang's grandmother, looking at her profile you'd think she would be homophobic and will force some man into Piang, but no she's not homophobic, she just looks down on poor people 🤣🤣 Took me some time to notice that she's the same grandmother from Pluto.

Gcash Platinum

My account was suddenly upgraded to Gcash Platinum without me doing anything in particular to achieve that, what could've been the reason for this? A quick google search says na dapat subscriber sa Globe Platinum, Globe Gfiber prepaid ang internet ko pero wala akong Globe Platinum. Also besides the larger wallet limit ano pang benefits ng Gcash Platinum?

Finally rewatched My Marvellous Dream Is You after 2 years and...

I found it to actually be quite a great show contrary to what I thought the first time. It's still super long and super slow which is a horrible combination but it has plenty of good points too. The plot was dragged out but the series was really good at setting up the mood and did a great job in communicating emotional states. When it works you can really feel the emotional tension, the first time all I remember feeling was frustration and stress but on my rewatch I felt the emotions better. The screenwriting's bad but I appreciate the themes of trauma, grief, obsession, depression, and healing. The acting, at first I was critical of Fay's performance, and while she was indeed dry and stiff in a lot of scenes but she did succeed in portraying vulnerability, longing, fear, and emotional dependence. Looknam and Songjet, although exaggerated at times, were super funny. Cinematography is beautiful. Music and sound design are superb, and without my personal biases I would say that Awake is still the best GL OST ever. The strongest part of the series is really the emotions, you will always understand what the characters are feeling even if their actions are fucking frustrating.

Some series I find quite boring or lesser than I thought on my rewatch, while some like Dream I appreciate better the second time around. Up next on my rewatch list is Us.

It's 5am here, just finished my Love Beyond Dreams binge.

• Love Beyond Dreams is in the same class as Heart Code and Queendom; non big name projects, some aspects of the production seemed amateurish, and yet it all still turned out to be great series and greatly exceeded initial expectations. I am now very much looking forward to AI Girl, same production team and shares the same universe as LBD, led by Aran's friend Gen the hacker.

• I'm confused about More Than Her cause LBD was initially called as such when it was announced but now AI Girl is also More Than Her, so is that actually the name of MAME's GL universe?

• I'm happy to see the women of I'm Your Moon still pursuing GL even after the failure of that show. I hope Sprite and Belle's upcoming series will also be good just like LBD.

• One thing that I didn't like about LBD is the whitewashing, super bright, glowy filter. I hope they will just completely stop using that filter on Thai GLs.

• I'm annoyed that they never explained how Aran managed to travel back in time. Or was it really just one long dream? Also why did Lene reestablished contact with Aran in the original timeline when the war with her father was not yet over? These questions will sit with me for a few days.

• Is it just me or does Aya actually looks like Lookkaew (Kamollak Sangsubsin, Love Senior)? The acting style is kinda similar too specially when they are crying. The facial expressions too.

• I've been planning to buy a new watch and now I know what I'm going to buy, the black Daniel Wellington watch that Aran is always wearing.

• It seems that there is a global shift to very young directors; Backrooms, Obsession, Love Beyond Dreams.

• The entire GL industry should adapt the same practice that LBD did when shooting the intimate scenes, strictly use an all women crew. Also I think this is just the 2nd or 3rd time out of all Thai GL series ever that there was an NC scene where they have explicitly shown one going down on the other and not just implied.

• Great watch, on to the next one. What a year 2026 has been so far for Thai GLs and we're only halfway through. I started in this genre a long time ago with manga, Milk Morinaga in particular, where you can barely find a work with more than 10 chapters and now we have all of these, gosh I love being a GL fan.

Girl Rules - late to the party but here are a few of my thoughts

It was tough waiting for 13 weeks and trying to avoid all of the spoilers but I finally just finished binge watching it and here a few of my thoughts:

• ShashaGorya hard carried Girl Rules. They had the best and most exciting storyline, and MilkLove are like 2 puzzle pieces that fits perfectly together. Kuhang-kuha ng ShashaGorya ang kiliti ko. There's really not much story and character development with PrimBambi, while MinPraew had an interesting story but it was too slow and lacks variety.

• There were plenty of complaints about the editing and I understand it but personally I love it. It's quirky.

• The music/soundtrack all throughout the series is 🤌

• I loved seeing all of the familiar faces in the cameos and short supporting roles like Ana Maria Benedic, Emi, Bonnie, Kapook, Ciize, and some other familiar faces that I just can't remember the names like Ant who was the acting teacher in My Marvellous Dream.

• I love how raw the videos are, it's so raw that I can clearly see the imperfections on the actresses' skins, unlike the usual lakorns and Thai GLs where they always uses this weird super bright filter.

• It's so colorful. In an era where monotone or dark color palettes are the trend Girl Rules is a rainbow.

• I'm surprised that Gorya did not set them all on fire or shoot them and decided to turn this into a murder mystery instead with how much they tested her patience. Shasha even taught her how to shoot.

• What happened to the person on fire scene? They literally set a human on fire and they just scrapped it?

• I fully understand it but I also think that most of the complaints just stems from expectations not being met, but on its own Girl Rules ain't really that bad specially up to episode 9 (gotta be my most favorite episode where the tables have turned and it was Gorya who was rage baiting Shasha and that secret bar scene is better than any intimate scenes in the entire series) and it's still very much enjoyable to watch. As for episodes 10-12, frankly they could've ended it at episode 9 and it would have been a satisfying enough ending, though it was fun finally seeing ShashaGorya being romantic with each other after all of the rage baiting.

• One thing that I absolutely hated about Girl Rules though are the flashing lights during the bar scenes. I felt so disoriented while watching those.

Question about the Wathinwanit cousins professions

I'm watching The Earth right now and I'm on episode 7. I just noticed that the Wathinwanit cousins all inherited the professions of their fathers, the Wathinwanit brothers. Din's father was a farm owner and she inherited it, Lom's a police officer and her father is a high ranking police officer, Nam's father is a hotelier and she inherited it too, so does that mean that Fai's father is also unemployed? Or was their profession mentioned in the novel?
