My lovely little gem ❤️

Good morning!

Mivar was an Italian company that made radios and TVs, in particular their TV sets were known for being extremely durable while offering a good picture quality and not being as expenaive as Sony's

A few days ago I got this Mivar 16m2 from my grandparents' attic, it works perfectly fine from what I've seen and it has a nostalgic style of its own that I really like.

From what I found on the internet it is a 16 inches set equipped with a ~14 inches Samsung《shadow mask in-line tube》whose model should be A38KRA53X01. It is PAL but is equipped with a scart connection capable of doing RGB and a jack on the front for headphones too

I'm totally new to the world of CRTs since they were all already gone when I was a child, but I would like to see what they were truly capable of compared to LCDs..

Now that I finally own a CRT TV in your opinion would my set work well for what I want to do with it?

The idea was to put the TV on my desk and hook it up to my newly bought PS3 via RGB scart at 576i 50hz to watch some youtube, prime video and DVDs and old absolutely legit cartoons and other movies from a usb stick. I would also try to play some games but maybe elements like text would be unreadable, does anybody have experience with that?

Do you guys think RGB will look good on the set? I'm still worried that all the "shadow mask in-line tube" thing would make it look crappy compared to any Sony.

GTA 5 DARK VISUALS GLITCH

Hello!

I have an old system with a fresh and fairly debloated Windows 10 install on a new samsung SSD, an i7-2600k, new 2x8=16gb ddr3 1333mhz ram modules and a used AMD HD 6950.

Well.. in the last few days, after firing up GTA 5 Legacy version, the game appears to be "dark" in the sense that while the textures related to the player and the HUD are shown perfectly fine, all the map appears to be black, yet when any part the map itself is lit by a strong light like the ones close to the city airport, all the textures like the road and a possible car that you are driving under the light are shown perfectly fine.

I'm running the game in DirectX 10.0 mode with graphical settings that go past the 1024mb of VRAM installed in my HD 6950 (probably the game says ~1800mb are required), but it has never been a problem until yesterday: GTA was always running smoothly without heavy stutters or crashes of any kind at about 40fps.

I also tried to run another game, which is Team Fortress 2, and it had no issues whatsoever, very smooth and no visible artifacts.

I believe it is more of a software-related problem than something to do with old and faulty hardware, but I hope that somebody with way more experience than me in the field of AMD cards will have useful advices.

Thanks in advance.
