Why is it so hard finding work in this town?

I've put in dozens of applications over the past few weeks and I can't seem to get so much as a rejection letter. I think my resume is pretty good. Is the unemployment rate that bad that I can't even get hired at a retail store?

Supposed living "Terror Bird" footage

I saw this video on my Threads feed of a supposed terror bird in some remote Pacific island that the guy says is 2.5meters/8.2 feet tall, but I have to agree with others in the comment section that it's most likely a chick taken from a distance where it looks large. It's wings are too big.
