Wicked Sauce
What actually is it? I just had it, expected it to be spicy but it wasn’t. It’s pleasant flavoured, a little mild honestly but it’s still nice. Tastes kinda like a capsicum dip?

I’m just writing this out of frustration, and I guess clarification over whether my feelings are justified or not
I’m currently undertaking placement in my 3rd year of my primary B.Ed in a rural town. Initially I was thinking “ah it’s a small town, things are different and everyone knows everyone so maybe this is just normal”. But, as I’ve been teaching my lessons and spent more time in the classroom (as well as observed ES staff in other classes), it’s started to feel more and more like the wrong behaviours
For instance, this ES has on many occasions been having full conversations with students during my teaching (and my mentors teaching) that have nothing to do with the lesson, and these aren’t quiet conversations, they’re at normal (and sometimes loud) volumes in the middle of teaching times. On top of this, they’re often just on their laptop doing uni work instead of supporting the classroom teacher or specialist teachers, and instead of working with students they seem to be helping enable students doing whatever they can to avoid doing work
This ES has boasted about having certain relationships with students (knowing them since they were toddlers because of familial links etc.), but when I or my mentor try correct behaviours and they talk back/speak rudely when they’re right next to them, they never correct their behaviours or tell them not to speak the way that they are. One student even used the word “abo” in class, I often overhear them calling people gay or just using gay as an insult/adjective, even while in conversation with this ES, and nothing seems to get corrected
I honestly don’t know whether this is normal in some places, and it doesn’t seem like it’s a school thing because the other ES I’ve observed haven’t acted like this, both throughout this school and across my other placements. I haven’t mentioned anything because I’m just a PST and don’t want to rock the boat or over step, but I’m just curious whether my feelings of frustration are justified or whether I’m just annoyed over nothing?
