Still Figuring Hot Wear?

Still Figuring Hot Wear?

Okay so still expanding wardrobe for summer wear. We've just hit a mini heatwave where I am and had a few pieces from a couple of weeks ago i've not yet worn. Still playing into the summer military athletics vibe that you all don't seem too keen on haha.

Advice on fit and feedback welcome?

Thoughts on manufactured 'wear' Fullcount US Army covert pullover Chambrey

When it comes to heritage gear, I know we all love the journey to fade/patina but I recently found this Fullcount US Army Covert Twill Pullover Shirt/chambray and it completely flipped my perspective.

For me, it was the perfect find. The way they’ve handled the manufactured wear—the subtle wash, the softening of the fabric, and the vintage drape—feels incredibly authentic rather than artificial. Because it’s a lightweight pullover style, having that stiffness already washed out actually makes it sit perfectly right off the hanger. It’s the first time I’ve intentionally bought a piece with pre-manufactured wear instead of trying to grind out the fades myself, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with how it frames a fit.

How does everyone else feel about pre-distressed pieces from top-tier Japanese brands like Fullcount, or do you strictly stick to breaking things in from raw?

Did someone say starchy?

Boxy silhouettes and starchy layers. Can barely bend my elbows right now, but the break-in process continues today on this stunning 45th Hinode Anniversary Studio D'Artisan jacket.

It's an absolute grail piece, but unfortunately, it's only been out of the closet once because I look like a literal cardboard cutout in it. It's too stunning to leave hanging up, so it's time to force some drape into these rigid layers over a heavy-textured 9.5oz UES slub tee.

Balanced out the textures and ruggedness with some Paraboot Malos

Toys McCoy's USMC ringer

Finally got out of the house to see how this silhouette holds up in natural light. I’ve been leaning heavily into the mid-century military aesthetic lately—focusing on that cropped jacket length paired with a higher rise to keep the proportions balanced.

Been searching for some miliarary athletic heritage gear and got a couple of pieces recently. This Ringer T from Toys is lovely and adds something different to the usual plain Ts I have.

The Breakdown:

Jacket: Buzz Rickson A2 BR80644

Top: Toys McCoy's U.S. Marines graphic ringer tee.

Belt: Shangri-La Wester star

Bottoms: Timberland Fatigue Pants

Footwear: Plain old Converse to keep in theme with the Military and Athletic style.

Constructive thoughts on the drape and the break of the trousers are always welcome.

Still breaking in this A-2 😂

Tones and Texture

I know you guys don't like slim fits here. However these RRL straight cuts were my first selvedge jeans and I love them, they have a furryness I just adore. I've babied them as I love the deep dark indigo and they have to squeeze into the rotation so don't get massive wear.

The rest:

Leather with Texture

Stepping into the weekend with a bit of "Honest Heritage." 🥃

There is something really special about these Ts (UES Slub 8s). first fit with them on and it just looks gorgeous with leather and some smooth Fatigues adding that element of texture and Slub that's needed to go with the smooth.

I love these things! Also love this Double Helix sports jacket.

So I've seen a few posts on these over the last couple of months and been in lust. More recently as you guys know, I post enough ;) I've bought quite a few lower cost olderbest shirts to sort myself out for summer and you know I think they are great but these have been my first premium T Shirt purchase AND I DO NOT regret it.

Needed to size up two sizes from my normal medium in UK Ts the size 4 fits me perfect. These things are stunning, the Slub as in the name is perfectly unperfect, the fit is briant, not too short and not too long. The colours are fab and the weight is just right, not sure how they'll hold up in peak of summer though?!

The bonus; I managed to get 3 of these from Bears Tokyo for just over the same price I'd pay for one in the UK. Do your homework before you buy guys there is a lot of money to save it you know where to look :)

It's only the second fit on the leather BR A-2 so still extremely boxy, I still think it looks great.

Was initially worried I'd struggle with summer heritage style but I'm actually really starting to enjoy changing my wardrobe and adopting fits and styles I would have previously worn.

Couple of new bits over the week, put them together for a few beers out? One thing getting into heritage has bestowed upon me is the appreciation for colours and textures, something before I had no awareness or care for at all. Now I love adding some texture to my fits!

So picked up some lovely new JL USN Quarter Cut Service shoes which are beautiful. I was lacking a lower cut brown shoe for my fits and these are just perfect.

They lighter brown smooth Calfskin French Russet will go with anything ( I Hope). The 140 John Lofgren last is obviously fantastic whilst they'll need some breaking in they are still very comfy out of the box. They fit TTS for me.

The Oni's (207HOX) what can I say, again the master has made what would normally be a duck type canvas something quite special,l. I the texture and colour of these changes Significantly depending on the light and angle and they are stunning! They are very long though so quite a lot of rollup needed. They're not tapered but do have a slightly slim profile in the top block but are straight down.

Have a great day guys and gals!

So waited a while for these to come. A massive massive shout out to Rodeo Japan, probably the best customer service I've received, they really helped me out and saved me a whole bunch of money.

Got another grail piece that really does complete my aviation jacket collection this is the amazing Buzz Rickson BR80644 red ribbed and it's perfect. Also shout out to the dude who told me a cloth A2 jacket would be enough and I'd need a leather, well you were right damn you!

Ignore the shorts and boxiness of the fit of the jacket it's brand new bit of a playful post by me today!

I have a lot of hats, this Buzz Rickson USMC is on another level I'm not sure it will leave my head, I'm rocking the 1940s US mechanic/ sports fan / p51 mustang pilot! And not pulling any of them off.

Have a good day all!
