Migrating Plex Server from OSX14.6.1 to F4-425 Plus (TOS 6.0)
I keep running into an error while trying to migrate my plex server.
I've been following plex's instructions pretty carefully. I've gotten all the way to the point where I've copied everything from the Mac (Source) Plex Media Server folder into the TOS6's (Destination) folder. I skipped the additional server settings (com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist).
The road block I run into is: when I try to re-enable plex media server on the NAS after rebooting, I get a window saying Operation failed!.
I did try an install with re-enabling the plex server without the reboot, and it successfully re-enabled, but still viewed the NAS as a separate server than the original one.
I did find this in another post here "You have to go into BOTH folders, go to permissions, go to the dropdown box and instead of users or user groups, select applications and allow it to have access to not only the media folder but the folder the app itself installed" I did change the permissions as suggested, but still not having any luck. Is there another set of permissions I need to look into?
The plex guide does say this:
"For Linux/NAS systems, make sure that the directories and contents are all owned by plex:plex (or whichever user you have running Plex Media Server under)."
I've noticed the owner of the Plex folder is listed as the admin account I used to install the Plex Media Server (version 1.43.3.10861), but I haven't found a way to change the owner if that's what needs to be done.
This is my first time using a NAS, so hopefully it's something small I've overlooked. I have the NAS set up in TRAID. Let me know if there's any other important info I didn't mention.
