SD card suddenly not recognized?

Homebrewed years ago and have been using the 3DS consistently since then. This morning it was working just fine and it has been sitting in a drawer since then.

I launched Pksm and opened a save, went to Storage but for some reason it was empty when there were hundreds of Pokemon there. Closed Pksm, launched Pokemon Y from the cart and it said SD card not recognized. Launched Pksm again and it went straight to a black screen which said the SD card was removed. When I open FBI, it shows the SD card and lets me open it and see the files.

Any idea what might've gone wrong?

Pre-Ordering Confusion

Never preordered a game before so I'm a bit confused by this.

Are preorders currently only for Steam? If not, is there currently no way to preorder physical games for console, only wishlist?

Do preorders come with some "code" or something that identifies them as preorders and gets you the preorder gifts?

Based on other games, do delayed releases (like the Switch) usuallly have a preorder window with the same gifts when they release?
