Why do people hate Chloe and Halle Bailey?

I don’t understand why they, Chloe especially, receive so much hate for doing the same thing others artists their age do. I understand how people can dislike explicit music but that doesn’t mean they deserve the hate they get. It’s not like their music is bad either. They’ll hate on Chloe but listen to other artists like Doja Cat and SZA. I don’t understand it.

Beginner - What makeup style would suit me?

Every time I wear makeup it looks heavy or like too much on my face. I feel like a child that got into her mother’s makeup bag. I don’t know what style of makeup looks best on me and would like outside opinions. These couple pictures feature my bare face (no makeup).

I need help getting out of a reading slump.

I’ve been trying to find a good book to read for the last few months but nothing has piqued my interest. I always end up DNF’ing. It’s become increasingly harder for me to pick up a book and read like I used to.

The last book I read and really enjoyed was “The Bluest Eye” by Toni Morrison. I read it faster than I’ve read most books. I tried to read more of hers like “Love” and “Beloved” but they didn’t hit the same.

I like literary fiction, books that touch on the human condition as well books that critique and/or analyze societal norms and human nature, especially the ones prominent during adolescence. I don’t like YA books though, I feel that because of genre limitations they fail to dive as deep into sensitive topics as I’d like. I like characters that are not necessarily ones that are morally grey but ones who are flawed and relatable on a deep human level. I like books full of prose that is not too, too elevated (Nabokov) but remains layered and poetic (Toni Morrison has of the best prose styles I’ve ever read along with Scott F. Fitzgerald). I’m not opposed to romance or fantasy either.

Someone please recommend me a good book! I’m begging you! I need to get out of this reading slump, I no longer feel like myself. 🙏

Writing a new book and feeling overwhelmed.

For the last few months, I’ve been writing scenes for a W.I.P. in a Google document. Now that I’ve somewhat organized it, I’ve found myself overwhelmed. I’ve written so much information about so many characters, trying to organize it all into a coherent draft is making my head spin.

How should I go about this in a way that won’t make me lose it. By creating an outline? I have a terrible habit of creating outlines that are far too detailed. Or should I just go straight to writing chapter by chapter?
