Starting ‘A Wild Sheep Chase’
Doing this now.
I’ve read ‘Hear the Wind Sing’ and ‘Pinball 1973’, so time to make this happen. Bought this used, the 3D glasses were not included.
This would be my 8th from Murakami.

In Larry McMurtry’s first memoir, ‘Books’, he begins chapter 5 on Thomas Pynchon.
(This is all he seems to write about Pynchon in here.)
Don’t hate me. I really liked the album, but could not get on board with the love; I felt like people were tripping over themselves to praise it. I did the live online listening release, then played it again immediately afterward. Nothing really stood out to me, as much of the music felt indistinguishable from other tracks, except a few, which I played a few more times each later. I consider it more of an “atmospheric spoken-word” album.
If it’s worth mentioning, I loved ‘Push the Sky Away’ and ‘Skeleton Tree’ and also ‘Carnage’. Love the ‘Distant Sky live in Copenhagen’ vinyl. Then this came along and I did not vibe with the creative direction that seemed to deviate from the trajectory of the last few releases. Hope I’m not some weird outlier. ‘Wild God’ is great, but not close enough to what I wanted—it gals somewhere between ‘Ghosteen’ and ‘Carnage’ in my mind, and apart from the singles, it hasn’t drawn me back for many repeat listens.
Ok, let the crucifixion begin.
Less than a third of my books. (Sorry for the glare on some spines.)
