Monday activities?

I’m doing a very quick visit to Florence and unfortunately one of the days is Monday, when several attractions are closed.

Im very open minded & love art, music, and food.
I am not from the EU.

Are there any lesser known activities that I can do on a Monday? Anything that’s a must-see?

Learning the Financial Calculator

I can’t for the life of me seem to acclimate to using the financial calculator. I’m doing my education through Kaplan and every time I need to use the calculator, I blank.

Does anyone have any tips or other resources they would recommend for getting really comfortable with the calculator?

I’m coming from a finance background already, over 5 years experience and have my series 65 & life and health license..a lot of subject matter has been really easy for me, until the calculator is involved. Scared that this is going to wreck me come exam time.

Filing a Diminished Value Claim

I was rear ended about 2 months ago, the other driver was found completely at fault.

In total, my rear bumper was replaced & then significant repairs to the “rear body” were done including cutting and welding. My trunk didn’t shut right, and the gaps were all off. Total cost was around $5k. Just got the car back, and it’s good as new.

I want to file a diminished value claim. A phone rep from the other persons insurance (a large national level insurer) told me I need to send them an estimate of the cars value with & without the accident on the record, and then a demand amount for them to pay, at which point they’ll do their own market research and make a decision.

I don’t really have the money to hire an appraiser which I’ve heard is an option. How can I get estimated values while factoring in accident history? I don’t see a way to search for this on KBB or NADA, I can’t find an option to note accident history.

My car is a 2022 with 35k miles. Popular reliable Japanese car. I’m located in New York.

When to verify experience? Worried about raising a red flag with current employer

When is the best time to get your experience verified with the CFP board?

I'm working on the CFP without my current employer's knowledge. After several years of being told "we'll think about it" I decided to just get the ball rolling on the whole process and intend to take the exam in March of 2027.

I'm concerned that the experience verification process will make my bosses think I'm looking to leave - my firm isn't paying for it, I'm not waiting for them to offer nor am I going to ask again. 5 years of experience working directly under three advisors.

Has anyone waited until passing the exam to get their experience verified? Also open to any tips on how to navigate this part of the process.
