Can this stone be lowered?

(pardon the dirty ring, I have so many kids and so little time to do things like clean jewelry!)

I had my original marquise diamond engagement stone replaced a few years ago with a round sapphire, and I love the look of it; it’s perfect for me. EXCEPT that now that I have had it for a while, I find the high profile to be frustrating in every day life. I scratch my kids and bump things wayyy more than necessary!

From the little I know about jewelry, this seems like a pretty standard pop and play peg head, and a jeweler could probably do a basket or something that sits lower, but I’d love to hear opinions before I start looking for local jewelers. The big potential issue is that it’s a fairly deep and not particularly well cut stone (got it off some loose stone website that’s like fine but not amazing), so I don’t know if it would be hard to set in anything lower between the stone depth and the cathedral setting.

What is wrong with this tile?

EDIT: Just to clarify, I am mostly looking for info about what kind of tile this might be since I cannot find any examples on the internet of this happening! Our landlord is a dickhead and we’ve had issues with getting them to fix things the whole time, so that’s more of a vent from me. My question is about the flooring itself.

We are moving out of this poorly maintained house this week, and I am very much not interested in being charged for any issues!

This kitchen tile has been chipping in a way that looks more like flaking, and also cracking the entire two years we’ve been here. We informed the landlord of some of the cracking issues, but he of course didn’t address it at the time and I am almost positive it’s going to become an issue with him.

What the heck is going wrong with this tile and how can I argue that it’s crap lol

Sticky hand wall imprint?!

We are moving out of our house and realized when we took down a bookshelf that a red sticky hand had been trapped back there for months! The dye has seeped into the wall and left an amusing (and apparently permanent) imprint :/ Any suggestions on fading it a bit?

We have tried a magic eraser and Zep foaming wall spray with no results.

I think Gus is a fun one to guess :)

This is my soul dog, adopted almost ten years ago from a Brooklyn rescue but brought up to NY from Arkansas. I think his mix of breeds is so interesting, especially since it resulted in this lazy couch potato. Embark results in the last pic!

Not the evil corset trope again :/

I’m reading Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil, because I enjoyed Addie LaRue when it came out. But for an author who likes taking her heroines through literal centuries, Schwab really doesn’t seem to do any research about the past.

Yeah, I know it’s magical realism! But I feel like it doesn’t take that much effort to make sure that one character isn’t teaching another how to waltz literally THREE centuries before that dance was invented. Then there was discussion of bustles in the 1700s. And then this paragraph, whereupon I needed to stop and write this rant.

Just… if you write historical novels, why not do a modicum of research about the experiences your characters might actually have had???
