I’m planning to apply for a Master’s in the USA, and I’ve been hearing from a lot of people that I should self-apply instead of going through a consultancy.

For those who have self-applied, I have a few questions:

• If I self-apply, do I also have to prepare for the university/visa interview by myself?
• What kind of problems or difficulties can I expect during the application process?
• Is it actually manageable for someone applying from Nepal without a consultancy?
• Are there any important things that first-time applicants usually miss?
• If you self-applied and successfully went to the USA, what would you recommend to someone starting the process now?

I’d really appreciate it if anyone with firsthand experience could share their experience, including the pros and cons of self-applying.
