I built the goalie tracking app I wish I’d had when I was younger
Hi everyone,
I used to play competitive hockey as a goalie and practiced every day. One thing that made me uneasy was how little data I had to understand my own game.
I was putting in the work, but I wanted a clearer picture of what I was doing well, where I was struggling, and whether the same patterns kept coming up.
That experience is why I built SmartGoalie. I want to help young goalies have easier access to their own performance data and feel more informed about their development.
The app lets you record saves, goals, and shot locations, along with passes and puck carry routes leading up to a shot. The controls are simple: tap to record a pass, drag to trace a carry, and tap or hold to record a save or goal.
I’ve attached a few screenshots showing the tracking screen and analytics.
If you’re a goalie, parent, or coach and decide to give it a try, I’d really appreciate your honest feedback. Is it easy to use? Does the information help you understand the game better? What would make it more useful for you?
I’m the developer, so I’m happy to answer questions here too. Thanks for taking a look!
