Need help with lyrics for a bday gift pleeaase

I don't want to divulge too much because my significant other sometimes peruses reddit but I really need y'all's help.

I'm having a birthday gift personalized for this amazing spouse of mine. And I'm getting a little pressed on delivery time because of course I am lol and the pressure of making this perfect and getting it here on time is freezing my brain and giving me some kind of choice paralysis.

I need help coming up with some lyrics to engrave on this gift that are preferably loving or romantic. Bonus points if it's water related. My favorite for this project is actually stay or leave:

(And when the summer comes

In the river

Swims at midnight

Shiver cold

Touch the bottom

You and I

With muddy toes)

But fuck me that song is so so sad. So I need some other options.

And I know the obvious answer is that I should choose something from my spouses favorite song or from "our song," but we've been together for decades and have had MANY "our song"s. And some of you might remember when this subreddit spent a few months rating every Dave song on a 1-10 scale? My spouse insisted that I tell you guys that every song was a 10 because this maniac loves them all the most 🙄 literally doesn't have a favorite.

So. Let me have your guys favorite romantic, loving, sweet, sexy lyrics. Especially water related

Love y'all, thanks! 💚

Amazon sword help?

Apologies if I used the wrong tag for this!

So I'm currently setting up and cycling my axolotl tank. I've got some anubias and Christmas moss going already, but I want a taller plant with broader leaves he can sit/climb on. An Amazon sword is exactly what I'm looking for, except...

It's a bare bottom tank. Obviously. So no substrate. I'm thinking terracotta pot glued onto a piece of slate? Substrate in the pot? But how do you keep the substrate IN the pot? Does anybody have experience with this? I'm also open to trying other plants - but I have an extreme aversion to java ferns of any kind. I can't describe how much I despise them. But other plant ideas are welcome. I just want something tall with broad, axolotl-weight-bearing leaves

Thanks!

Help with quick area calculation

So. My aquarium has a 7" x 13" acrylic ledge. I am planning to carpet this ledge with moss. I can only purchase the moss in mats that are 3" x 3". The mats are just moss grown on a screen, so they are flexible and can absolutely be cut down to different sizes.

So I'm just trying to figure out the most efficient and cost effective way to lay this out, and I have tried to figure this out a bunch of different ways and I'm getting different answers. I think I need twelve mats but I just...My ADHD isn't mathing lol

Can anyone help me figure this out? Pretty sure I'm making it more complicated than it needs to be (like I just started making a mock up with paper squares I could manipulate). Please send help.

Need help with flooring math please!

Okay! So this isn't flooring in the traditional sense, but I'd argue it still counts. Either way, it seems like flooring people are definitely the best people to help!

Lighting

So I've looked through previous posts here and other forums and axolotl care guides in general, and I can't find the answers I'm looking for. A lot of contradictory information too.

I'm trying to dial in the best lighting for my future axie. The tank is in a cabinet (under our hundred gallon-its a rad setup). This means that the only light coming in is from the front, which is generally open, and it's not much light. No windows nearby.

I know they prefer dimmer lighting, so I think that's great. But I've also got a light I want to have on for a few hours for feeding and viewing. I have an aquarium light that will be probably 8" above the tank. The lid is egg crate for diffusion of light, and there will also be some surface plants (any suggestions?!?! I love the look of frog bit, but I think it prefers warmer water)

So my question is: what color tones are best? I've got the smallest aquasky, so I have complete control over everything. I'd prefer blue-based tones (especially if I end up with a gfp), but I'm seeing a lot of contradiction around that. Are red tones better? Or more in the green/yellow range? I think I've got a good understanding of lighting duration and strength, but not a clue about color tones. Do they like a little sunrise/sunset/moonlight? Please help! Thanks!

Hey y'all quick question!

I am slowly building an axolotl tank, and I've almost hit the point where it's time to add water and start cycling. However.

I can't use my tap water because we have a background concentration of nitrates that sits between 10 and 20. Also pH, gh, and kh that are so high they aren't readable. We built an RO system that we use (and remineralize) for our other fishes; that's been great.

However, I know we can't use the same water conditioning treatments in an axolotl tank because of things like aloe, etc.

So I'm looking for recommendations. If you were to start with 100% ro h20, what products would you use to get the pH, kh, and gh up to axo appropriate levels? I know they like higher phs and more hardness, and honestly our tap water would almost be perfect. But it seems pointless to do a water change with water that has nitrates sitting at 20ppm.

The tank will be lightly planted, no substrate atp.

Help?
