Pauper Player Survey

Hey all, long-time MTG player who used to play Pauper back in 2018/2019 (I stopped right around Covid-era for no particular reason) and I decided to dip my toes back in to the format! I love data and thought I would get a "vibe check" from the Pauper community as a fun way to connect with people again as I make my return to the format.

To that end, I made a Google Survey that asks some questions about your experience with the format + magic as a whole, your favorite decks, and a handful of other topics along those lines. It's only 18 questions long and takes 5-10 minutes to complete. I'd love to hear from you all in here and report back in a week or so with the results, so if you don't mind taking some time out of your day and answering these questions that would be awesome! 😄

Beach Hazard Statement - how to tell if beaches are closed to swimming?

Me and my girlfriend are in town until Thursday. We’re hoping to visit some of the beaches but can’t really tell which ones are open or closed.

After the storms yesterday we went down to South Haven after they started showing some green flags around 6:15/6:30 when the beach hazard warnings ended, but we’re struggling on how to tell which ones in Holland, namely Holland State Park and Tunnel Park Beach, are still open to visit and swim at even with the weather warnings.

Short, Mid-Week Trip Advice for Activities/Restaurants

Hey all, my girlfriend and I (both late twenties) are coming to Holland at the end of July. We landed on Holland after looking at a few different places in Michigan, but we wanted some advice about the trip.

Currently, we’re arriving on a Monday and leaving on a Thursday, giving us 2 full days and 2 half days for travel. We are driving from Indianapolis, so about 4.5 hours there and back. We plan on spending most of our time at the beach and downtown. As of right now, the trip is a slow-paced relaxing trip and not one that we’re trying to jam a ton of activity into. Think regular sightseeing at iconic spots and long days at the beach.

I’ve done some research into the different parks and beaches in the area, but I wanted to know if you had any tips or tricks for Holland State Park and Tunnel Beach Park, the two we are planning on visiting. Additionally, are there any “must see” attractions or sights for this time of year? I have the Windmill Island Gardens on my list for sure, and then we plan on attending the Wednesday Farmer’s Market and seeing the Wizard of Oz statues around the town.

I’m also a huge foodie, so I’ve done a lot of research on restaurants in the area and have an extensive list but I would love to hear suggestions from you all! I’d love to hear your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner spots! Neither of us are huge drinkers, so locations where the alcohol isn’t a major draw are preferred. We both love Mexican food and seafood, but we’ll take any and all suggestions!

We both can’t wait to visit your beautiful city! Thanks for any and all help! 😄
