More deconfirmed characters

Monika from DDLC deconfirmed since he never played it.
https://x.com/moro_production/status/2090134303510307302

Hornet isn't a new debunk, but Moro goes into more detail. Silksong wasn't out when he finished writing the story, if he adds her now it will be clear that she wasn't planned. This same logic can be applied to any character Moro didn't already have planned before finishing writing IC.

PEPPINO DECONFIRMED AGAIN HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON OLD MAN!?
https://x.com/moro_production/status/2090135047902818613

Moro never played Roblox and will never be interested. Which is good, no diddlers in IC.

An odd thing about Watcher's mark of communication

>!In order to get the mark in Watcher, you have to go on the path of the ascension ending, where the Prince will give you the mark near the end.!<

>!But at that point, you can't go back to Ancient Urban to use the pearl reader. You're forced to go into the Depths and become a void worm.!<

>!But once you reload your save, you wake up in Daemon with the mark even though at that point in the save the Prince didn't give you it. And you're still a slugcat. And you can go back to Ancient Urban.!<

>!You might argue this is just a gameplay mechanic, but the Prince has different dialogue if you do the ending with the mark. He'll exclude the part where he gives you the mark.!<

>!Given that in Watcher's campaign you mess with alternate timelines (the Surface is a future version of Aether Ridge regions. All rooms in the Surface that look similar to Aether Ridge regions have the same code with the word "Future" added. They're alternate timelines since infecting past versions of Aether Ridge regions doesn't affect the Surface. Same thing for Stormy Coast regions. Plus there's Spinning Top's dialogue about strands that gives more evidence to the theory that how they cycle works is when something dies, it goes to an alternate timeline where it didn't die.!<

>!The point here is that given if the Watcher before becoming a void worm can mess with timelines, Watcher as a void worm should be able to do that even better. The ending screen for the Watcher on the campaign select after getting the ascension ending still depicts it as a slugcat. So perhaps through it's void worm powers, the Watcher sent itself into a timeline with the mark while still being a slugcat.!<

What do you think? Is it just a gameplay mechanic, or have I found some truth but didn't quite hit the mark?

Why doesn't the Watcher plushie have the yellow eyes and feathers on tail?

The glowing eyes, feathers are what made the Watcher look unique amongst the other slugcats. It can't be that they are trying to hide spoilers, several spoiler characters have plushies.

The realm Niko and Cuphead will go to

https://x.com/moro_production/status/2071028658924343653?s=46 Moro has said the realm they will go to has been guessed a lot. And that the place they are at is somewhere dark: https://x.com/moro_production/status/1970913534029766762 Let's see the most guessed games with them and dark places:

Bendy, plenty of people guessed (myself included) because of their cartoon aesthetics, plus the brothers in arms animation that inspired IC in the first place. The world of Bendy is both literally dark and dark as in messed up. But Moro has said Bendy would have a minor role and is considering cutting him entirely for pacing: https://x.com/moro_production/status/1985883457512235344 So unlikely

One of the other popular guess is a hat in time. Subcon is a literal dark place. But there's no evidence Moro has even played AHIT, so 50/50 I suppose.

Another popular guess I can think of is Hotline Miami. There's actually some evidence for this: Cuphead used Jacket's bat, with a picture of Hotline Miami in the background. Unlike most easter eggs, the characters notice and interact with the bat, and it appears in another scene. The one with Chester, which the characters acknowledge. Miami is not a literal dark place, but definitely dark as in messed up. Moro has said either episode 3 or 4 will explain why the rogues (except for Unreal) fear getting a a nightmare form: https://x.com/moro_production/status/1942737820394606772 Why this is relevant is because Jacket himself is just a guy. Sure the same thing can be said for Niko, but she is lucid enough to not fight any drones outside of a distraction. Jacket with all of his issues would suicidaly charge at a drone. If Jacket gets a nightmare form, that's no longer a problem. Plus, Moro said the realm Drifter and Madeline will go to has been hinted by an easter egg: https://x.com/moro_production/status/1993394458948518164?s=20 perhaps the same logic can be applied to Cuphead and Niko. Of course, Moro has said the not all easter eggs will get a major role in IC.

I can't think of any other popular guesses. I've seen some people guess that it will be OFF because Oneshot and OFF operate on meta-logic. And I personally would like to see Niko interact with meta-logic characters. The world of OFF is not literally dark except for a few places. But it is incredibly messed up, so that type of dark fits the definition if that's what Moro meant. But like AHIT there's no evidence Moro has played OFF (unless there's something I missed).

Can anyone else think of popular guesses on the game world Cuphead and Niko could end up in?

A test on how much people glaze Ultrakill, V2 vs all members of IC individually

This is more of a test rather than a match-up.

Ultrakill has the most amount of glazers of any of the fandoms so far. Plenty of people believe V1 will solo the rogues even though that would ruin the story, and Moro said it wouldn't happen and Hakita himself approved of it.

So I want to see if the glaze goes further than just V1.

V2 has both the knuckleblaster and the whiplash. And all guns it uses in both fights.

All of the Indie Cross main cast and rogues will fight V2 individually.

Niko is not included because, you know, small child.

V1 is not included, because we already know how that ended: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wepJpSwD6_A

A theory on the two characters Drifter, Madeline and Cuphead, Niko will meet

Moro has confirmed the character Drifter and Madeline will meet in future episodes has been hinted via an easter egg in ep 2: https://x.com/moro_production/status/1993394458948518164?s=20

So, now we need to look at ep 2's easter eggs:

Let's debunk a few right off the bat: Ultrakill is already in and Moro has said there will be no more new Ultrakill characters https://x.com/moro_production/status/2057211089033592881?s=46

Terraria has been deconfirmed https://x.com/moro_production/status/1942745504401744033

Deltarune has also been deconfirmed https://x.com/moro_production/status/1926787997623611827

Choo Choo Charles is dead after Cuphead killed him.

Moro has said the Goose might be a reoccurring easter egg.

Among Us is.... you know, Among Us.

Now, it's time for the ones who could get in:

Alien Hominid, via the alien gun during Chester's scene. I don't know Moro's preferences, but it would be questionable to choose Alien Hominid over Castle Crashers in a major role. Unless you don't take this scene at face value. Alien Hominid was the Behemoth's first console game, the game that established them as indie developers. Perhaps the alien gun isn't just supposed to represent Alien Hominid, but the Behemoth themselves. Thus, with some leaps, you could assume this is foreshadowing Castle Crashers. But as mentioned before, this requires some leaps in assuming what Moro intended with the easter egg. The Castle Crashers don't have any thematic connections to Madeline and the Drifter. Unless someone who knows the game better could prove me wrong. Something to note is that Moro said the character they meet will talk https://x.com/moro_production/status/1924250042790982111?s=20 Neither the Alien Hominid or the Castle Crashers speak at all. There's a small chance Moro will give them a voice, but I doubt it. Sure the Beheaded speaks when he doesn't in canon, but that's because he speaks in official (not canon) material. As in the show.

Henry Stickmin, via Cuphead's flashbacks and the teleporter via Chester's scene. Not much to say. Like above Henry doesn't have any thematic connections with the duo. Unlike the above, Henry does talk. But it's not what he's known for, Henry doesn't say anything most of the time. Most of his voice lines are grunts and screams. It does give him a better chance than either the Alien Hominid or the Castle Crashers though.

Hotline Miami. Jacket has a single line of dialogue, but it's not even in the games. Jacket does have some thematic connections with Drifter with them having visions from a supernatural being (the Jackal in the case of the Drifter, Richard in the case of Jacket), both of them receive torment from their visions, though in Jacket's case it might be less supernatural (Not referring to Richard in this part). The other problem with Jacket is that he's just a guy. He has great combat experience and training, but he's only human, after all.

Rivals of Aether. Aside from the debunked characters, this is the only easter eggs both Madeline and the Drifter encounters. Shovel Knight pulling out a chest to summon Chester is a reference to his taunt in Rivals of Aether that lets him do so. Madeline was present for that. The Drifter was present for the billboard with the cover art of ROA during the Game Master fight. For a long time I have wanted Orcane in IC. But if ROA gets in as the character Drifter will meet, unfortunately Orcane won't get in since he doesn't say words. He has a voice and uses it a lot, but it's a gibberish only children can understand. Maybe if you make a stretch it counts as speaking.

But here comes the character Niko and Cuphead will meet. Moro said the character has similar themes in backstory to the character Drifter and Madeline will meet: https://x.com/moro_production/status/1966923228468965554?s=20

Depending on how you interpret this, it debunks Henry, the Alien Hominid, and the Castle Crashers since they don't have a backstory.

Aside from this, we know even less about this character than the character Drifter and Madeline will meet.

Lets go by confirmed/potentially confirmed characters:

Quote. Moro said the character Charlotte will meet is moreso a teaser for the protagonist for their game https://youtu.be/NJSUe5oAHKY?t=5458 know that we know who the character Charlotte will meet is, there's only one character who could be that protagonist. He does have a backstory:

Ten years prior to the events of Cave Story, an army of robot soldiers was sent to the Island to claim the Demon Crown, a very dangerous artifact which bestows great powers upon the person who wears it. The robots specifically targeted Mimigas in their assault, killing countless masses of them (including the humans that attempted to protect them) without any notable provocation. During the conflict, Quote and a similar female combat robot named Curly Brace were constructed by an unknown party, and also sent to the island. Unlike the other robots sent there, Quote and Curly were ordered to destroy the Demon Crown rather than claim it for any owner. They arrived later than the other robots; by the time they reached the Island, much of it was in ruins. Death and carnage was everywhere, the Mimiga race became an endangered species and the defending humans are wiped out. By the time they found the Demon Crown, a human (presumably Miakido the Crown's third wielder, though this is never confirmed) had already claimed it. Quote and Curly fought back the Crown's bearer, and managed to fatally wound him, but were both seriously damaged themselves. For the next ten years, Quote laid incapacitated, dormant and undisturbed in a small cave, separated from Curly Brace.

I guess this shares a theme of war a handful of ROA characters have in their backstories.

Meat Boy. If he isn't scrapped, I doubt it will be him since again, no backstory.

Ori. If She isn't scrapped, then she could be the character Niko and Cuphead will meet since Ori does have a backstory:

Ori is a spirit, her species are born through leaves on a spirit tree. There was a great storm that tore off the leaf Ori was. It landed by a being named Naru who adopted her. The spirit tree tried calling out to Ori by lighting up Nibel, the setting of their game. Naru didn't want to give up her only child so she didn't let Ori go back. Long story short this led to the spirit tree dying and the forest dying with it since the tree kept away a force called decay. Naru starved to death and Ori ended up orphaned. Sometime later Ori wandered to the spirit tree, dying. She died, but the spirit tree used the last of it's strength to revive Ori.

A handful of ROA characters lose or have to leave behind people they loved, few of them even lost their parents. Plus there's the official crossover the two games had.

This is assuming Ori isn't scrapped and even if she isn't, that it won't be a character we have never heard of.

And then there's the characters V1 will meet during it's subplot which we know even less about. I have had a theory that since Meat Boy canonically respawns, there will be a joke rivalry where V1 tries to catch Meat Boy to use for infinite blood. And then there's Moro's statement on how V1 would ignore anything that doesn't have blood. Any indie characters that don't have blood that you can think of?

And then there's Frisk's subplot. While Moro hasn't said they would meet any new characters, it's very likely they will. So the confirmed/potentially confirmed characters could end up with them, or a character we once again don't know about.

What are your thoughts? Are there easter eggs I missed in ep 2? Or are there backstories for the characters I said didn't have any?

But this isn't just a normal story, I want this to be a community project. It's Indie Cross, but "Everyone is Here".

You can request characters, locations, anything you want for the story. BUT you have to make an explanation for what they would contribute to the story. And I have to like the characters.

If you've got good ideas, you can affect the way the plot goes. I still have the final say, but I will hear you out.

I've got a server for this story, my discord name is itdoesntmatterwhatmynameis)067. If you want on I'll send you an invite

I've been getting back into Don't Starve, which got me wondering which survivor could represent DS IF it gets in Indie Cross.

Obviously, Wilson represents Don't Starve the most (he's on the cover). But gameplay-wise he's basic compared to the other survivors. Given the multiplayer version is called Don't Starve Together and the advertising emphasizes this feature, I propose Don't Starve will be given the Madeline and Badeline exception. More than one character will be allowed.

Which survivor should accompany Wilson? I would recommend an explanation on what the character would contribute physically, and character-wise.

One option would be WX-78. He has a lot of unique options gameplay-wise, and character-wise, an evil character on the team would make things more interesting. Because aside from the Beheaded (who seems to have not realized his past as the King, and still has good traits) the cast are good people. WX's hatred of organics yet his willingness to work with them would make for some funny moments.
