Walking at night with bags

Hi, just looking for some advice/ help with planning. My partner and I are staying in Naples for 1 night before we head to Ischia, we will be arriving from the airport to central station at around 9pm or a bit later. I have been trying to do research but its such a mixed bag, we are staying about a 15 minute walk from the station and in Centro Storico. Will we be okay walking from the central station to this area at night with our bags? I have seen so many posts that are making me very worried and am looking for some advice as to whether I should be booking a taxi to drop us outside the door, although I can't really afford the extra expense.

Basically I am very much winding myself up and I don't know what to do. Any help much appreciated. Thank you!
