Cheat Sheet for a digital scorecard app I’m developing for Apple Pencil. Would love your feedback!

With all the scorecard formats out there, I wanted to create something that brings the best parts of many formats together, but also offer simple options - something crucial in the age of pitch clock, where the game moves faster than it ever has. These are the two formats I’ve settled on, and I would greatly appreciate this community’s feedback on the ones I’ve chosen. I wanted the cheat sheet to serve as a guide for the sample scorecards that will come bundled with the app, and also help educate new scorekeepers about the basics of scorekeeping.

About the app: I am planning to soft launch the app during the offseason for testing, with a hard launch targeting the start of Spring Training (I really hope we have a 2027 season). The app will have tiered subscriptions with various features at each level, including an in-app calendar where scorecards and events can be linked together - with full-season schedules for every MLB and college baseball team. Various versions will also include real time drawing stats, PDF/image export, printing, cloud storage & back-up, additional stationery for notes, and X-ray mode where the entire scorecard inverts black & white for dark environments. It also uses all the Apple Pencil features like double-tap, squeeze menu, snap-to perfect shapes, stickers, and more. Future plans include scorecards and calendars for multiple sports (NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLS, NHL, Olympics, etc.), plus non-sports games like Yahtzee, Boggle, and more.

Thanks in advance for your feedback! I really want to tailor this app to, and help build, a better digital scorekeeping community, while also keeping things old-school and analog - the way we like it. Cheers!

The season stat no one is talking about

After the first season of ABS, these are the MLB leaders for projected runs lost due to defensive ABS challenges:

  1. Seiya Suzuki - 5.7 runs
  2. Shohei Ohtani - 5.5 runs
  3. Ian Happ - 5.2 runs
  4. Michael Busch - 5.1 runs
  5. Brett Baty - 3.5 runs

The Cubs occupying 3 of the top 5 spots is just painful to see.
