Greenville SRT Prediction - SCTAC Perimeter Rd will Connect to Conestee Nature Preserve Swamp Rabbit Trail Blue Line and Eventually follow Neighborhoods behind Fork Shoals Rd to connect to Greenville Tech Brashier Campus
I predict with the rise in popularity with Greenville's Swamp Rabbit Trail and the need for Safety and Connectivity, the SRT Blue-line at Conestee will Connect to SCTAC in the near future. This would probably be done in phases, but there is a major need there and this doesn't have to come out of our own tax dollars (SRT committee always finds away with easements and ground permissions anyway.)
This would benefit the SRT system tremendously, provide safety to active cyclist, and improve curb-appeal and vehicle traffic in the near future, as well as adding a huge boost in Greenville lifestyle. Another mention is that Newly-built Subdivisions can also benefit simply by adding connectivity in unused open spaces in their built communities by boosting adding this incredible public amenity, which can boost sales, increase sale-points and improve the lives of residents that work near-by in SCTAC.
Here are small points below:
Safety:
SCTAC / Donaldson Center is already a Cyclist Mecca. The Greenville Spinners Biking Club already meets at SCTAC, namely Perimeter Rd to tackle Designated loops around Perimeter Rd. These Legends make use of the open space, but this is sometimes a critical Safety Hazard. They use Antioch Church rd in large groups around 5-6 pm which is the time people are trying to get home from work in a hurry. The cover the street and impatient drivers can pose threats to them and others while trying to drive , toaround. This Trail which I predict will be called the Spinner Trail or Magenta Trail, will eliminate these safety risks, and other residents can even join the challenge/warm up safely.
Connectivity:
This trail would ease Vehicle traffic and can revolutionize commutes for nearby Residents AND students. The Conestee blue line Trail already has a small trail the leads to the Greenville Fire department at Forkshoals rd. Across from the fire department as shown in the images attached connect to Old East fork shoals, which can easily be connected to Perimeter Rd at the SCTAC Donaldson Center. From there, either the trail can connect through newly built Sub-divisions and back roads down through the Fork Shoals corridor, that can easily be connected through the new Food Lion down to West Georgia Rd, and from there 1 mile away, to the Greenville Tech Brashier Campus on West Georgia rd.
Lifestyle:
This connects Greenville Brashier Campus, for weld students, back to Greenville AMT Aviation Campus in SCTAC, and in theory up to Conestee and maybe one day To Greenville Tech In Greenville which would be a unified Student Trail that connects the major Campuses. Nearby Residents, Workers, Teachers and students can use this trail to decrease Vehicle Traffic and provide an awesome commute (I also predict A spike in E-bike sales when this happens). SCTAC is home to a lot of other Giant Companies like Michelin, Lockheed Martin, Diversified Coating Systems etc which will be a game changer for nearby Residents.
Everybody wins:
Sub-divisions would increase home sales and attract many more home-buyers with this connectivity. Residents will have a huge boost in lifestyle. Safety increases exponentially with less vehicles on the road. Students can have a way to commute to all the major campuses. The SRT will expand to new levels and attention with an extension like this. Everyone wins.
This is not a proposal, but rather a prediction. Let's hope we get to see if within the next 20 years!
