Changing from stamp 2 to stamp 4 as spouse of EU citizen
Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone who has gone through this process could help.
I'm a Mexican citizen currently living in Ireland on a Stamp 2. I'm getting married to my Hungarian (he does not have irish citizenship) partner in Denmark at the beginning of September. We both live together in Ireland, and my partner works full time here and i am also working.
From the research I've done, I believe I need to apply for residence under EU Treaty Rights using the EUTR1 application (which I understand is now submitted online). However, I'm still a bit confused about how the process works in practice.
I'm mainly wondering:
- What documents are needed for the application
- Can I continue working while the application is being processed?
- My Mexican passport expires in July next year. Meaning that i will be renewing it sometime while my application is being processed, am i able to update the new passport on the application once i get it renewed?
My current Stamp 2 expires in the middle of October and i can't renew it again because it's my third course.
I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through this recently.
