LSE, Sapienza, and others

Hi
I am currently a junior who is residing in the US, i am an indian citizen and completed my education from there, then moved to the US and am continuing in high school.
I was in the ICSE Board back in India and scored 96% percent in my Board examinations(primary exam for 10th graders).
In my 1st year in the US, i have taken APUSH, AP Precalc, AP LANG, AP STATS, AP CSA (precalc i had no choice)
My grades are all A's in the 1st quarter, and i am confident that i have those sorted. (don't have a GPA yet)
Senior Year my AP's would be AP LIT, AP CALC AB & BC, APES, AP COMP GOV
I have also registered for 4 DE Courses next semester in economics.
I haven't given any tests yet, but my practice scores are
SAT- 1530
ACT-34
PSAT- 1470

I am gonna give the October PSAT and November SAT.
I have 2 awards from my old school and board for contributions and performance in Literature.
Since i lived in India, we did not give any importance to ec's or weren't guided/told to develop them, hence they are a weak point in my application. I literally have 0 ec's...
the only ones i have are
Accounting Internship with a LoR from the CA and learning doc (prolly the only good one)
A few community service hours at an elementary school teaching kids chess.
Chess AFM going for an official title, major online and offline tournament experience.

I did join a few clubs since coming to the US (old school did not have any) but i doubt i will reach any leadership position within a year, nevertheless i will try for them.

A few things are also wip,
Started off my own History Blog on substack (very passionate about history)
Writing a Research Paper on Ottoman Economics.
Joining an NGO to up those hours.
TEDx, A few competitions are also things i will be doing.
Also gonna volunteer at a local mosque.

I am interested in a Finance/Accounting/Economics major, we aren't sure about aid tho my parents do say they are ready to pay the whole thing, but i am not really convinced about it but my family is gonna pay the major part of the fees.

I am turning instate for NC in August of next year so chance accordingly thanks.
My list of colleges are
LSE
Sapienza University
Trinity College Dublin
UNC Charlotte
NC State
UNC Chapel Hill
Wake Forest
Fordham Uni
Boston College
UNC Greensboro
URochester
UC Davis, UC SC, UC SB
NYU, Columbia (unrealistic ik)
Vanderbilt,
Assuming my essays are great, what chances would i have

pardon if i may have not clearly written the ec's, any advice is happily taken.

How to develop ec's?

Hi, i am a junior and have 0 extracurriculars', i know that i will not be having a good shot at t20s cuz of that, but i still wanna get into a good school. My GPA is good(4.6) and test scores are great as well (1530, 35), my academics is rigorous despite the fact i moved countries after sophomore year. That's also the reason why i have 0 extracurriculars'. Aside from a 3 month internship i did, i have nothing, what would be a good starting point for me to start building on my interests and get atleast an above average ec profile.

edit: Wanna do a finance/accounting/eco major, i like all those fields and history(did a course mastery of WW2 once).

Virat Kohli is top 5 batsmen of all time in international cricket

I genuinely stand on this opinion. imo he is the greatest chaser and match winner in the history of international white ball cricket. He is objectively the greatest T20i Batsman, the greatest ODI batsman, and imo makes it into top 5 of india in tests and top 30 overall. i don't see another batter being this good across all 3 forms of the game. the status is (test-great, odi-goat, t20i-goat) which i doubt anyone else has. What do u think?

0 extracurriculars, Help

Hi everyone,

I am from India and just shifted to the US (starting junior year), the system and curriculum is different for me, which i will need to adjust to. School started in august and im doing pretty well (95+ in all subjects) I got a 91.7 in my 9th grade in India and a 96% in my 10th grade boards (primary exam for Indian high schoolers), i have taken AP CSA, APUSH, AP Lang, AP stats as my 4 ap's and am scoring well in them.

I think my academics are pretty much sorted(also considering de next semester) but the real problem is my extracurriculars. In India, no one really gives importance to ec's and everything is based on merit. The only ec's i have are

3 month Internship at an Accounting Firm with LoR and learning doc.
Chess AFM(ik its worth nothing) with major tournament experience.
A UMich Python course which i will use to make a project.
Gilder Lehrman WW2 Course Mastery and Blog
Helped Volunteer at an Old Age Home helping senior citizens to include ai and tech in their lives.|
I have joined Chess Club, Muslim Student Association, Speech and Debate Club, Finance and Economics Club rn in my new school and am planning to apply for leadership next year.
Helped new converts gather learning about Islam at a mosque.

Helped Middle schoolers learn about the game of chess (also elementary)
1 award from the national education board for my performance in English Literature.
1 from the school i went to for my overall performance.

I want to increase community service hours, planning to be a TEDX volunteer, start a history blog, and a financial literacy for teens newsletter and hopefully publish a research paper.

I will also give the PSAT,SAT, ACT this year or start of 27,
practice score in SAT is 1530, ACT is 34

I am in NC sooo what kind of colleges should i target and what else should i add to build some meaning in my profile, also should i give a try for any top schools or is it too late?

could someone chance me

Student from India who shifted to US after completing grade 10, arriving in junior year
Grade 9: 91.7% (subjects like English lang, lit, math, phy, bio, chem, history, geography, cs, Hindi)
Grade 10: 96% (10th board exams(only exam which matters in IND) with the same subjects)

Then shifted to the US

Grade 11: Forensic Science H, Civic Literacy H, NC Math 3 H, AP Stats, AP CSA, APUSH, AP LANG

(doing great up till now)

i had to take math 3 as the school did not accept to see my transcript and gave me the most basic level of math. Hence i am studying precalc myself to be able to take calc bc next year

Grade 12: Biology H, Economics H, AP lit, APES, AP CALC BC, AP MACRO, AP WH, AP COMP GOV, Accounting 1 AND 2 H

The biggest disadvantage is the Ec's as India doesn't care about ec's so there weren't community service/ club opportunities.

Anyways here are the few things that are done/in progress

3 month Internship at an Accounting & Consulting Firm with LoR and learning doc.
Helped Senior Citizens at an Old Age Home adapt to technology and A and utilize it in their daily lives
Chess AFM (Ik its worth nothing) with major online and offline tournament experience with many top 10 finishes. (Planning to reach 2000 elo very soon)
Helped teach 30+ middle schoolers the game of chess and how to get better at it
TEDX Volunteer for stage setting and logistics.
Gilder Lehrman University of American History WW2 Course Mastery and Blog
UMich Python Course (will use to make a project)
Chess Club Member (Will apply for leadership (not p/vp but smth else)next year)
Muslim Student Association Member (will apply for some kind of leadership position)
Helped New converts to learn about the religion and gain knowledge by volunteering at a mosque.
Speech and Debate Club Member-(Will partake in competitions)
NHS-(yeah idk)
Cricket Batsman with an average of over 50

Things i will do
Increase community service hours
Research Paper on Economics of Empires
Hopefully try to become a TEDx Speaker
Financial Literacy for teens Newsletter/Project
Get good LoR's
Start writing blogs about history.

ik these ec' are not good enough and that's what i wanna fix. I wanna do an Accounting/Economics/Finance major and wanna know my realistic chances at

UNC Charlotte
Wake Forest
NC State
UNC Wilmington
UNC Chapel Hill
UMich
NYU
Northwestern
UCLA
Columbia
Cornell
Upenn

edit- i am gonna give the PSAT in October and SAT in November (my avg practice score is 1530)

for UNC chapel Hill, NCSU, Columbia and UNC Charlotte

Newly shifted junior from India
Grade 9-- 91.7%

Got a 96% on my 10th grade board examinations (primary exam for high schoolers)
Lit- 100, Lang-93, Math-97, Bio-97, History-99, geo-99, cs-94, hindi-93, chem-93, phy-86

Grade 11 shifted to US
taken 4 ap's 1st year-- APUSH, AP CSA, AP lang, AP stats(doing well up till now)

next year probably going to take- AP CALC BC, APES, AP LIT, AP MACRO, AP WH, AP COMP GOV

SAT-- going to give in the next few months (practice test avg is 1530)
ACT-- same (practice test avg is between 33-34)
DE courses i am planning to do once i am settled in within this country and system

i got 14 credits for my 2 years of school in India, all subjects (when equating to US curriculum) are roughly the same difficulty as honors-AP level.

The biggest disadvantage i have are my ec's, In India people don't give any importance to ec's and continue studying without a thought.

My ec's are

Chess AFM with major online tournament experience(have played many offline but most online)
Tutored Middle Schoolers and taught them the game of Chess
3 month Internship at an Accounting Firm with a LoR
Helped Senior Citizens in old age homes get used to technology in daily lives.
Gilder Lehrman Institute's WW2 Course Mastery and Blog
Python course from UMich (will use to develop some sort of program)
Chess Club, Muslim Student Association, Finance and Eco, Debate club member (looking for leadership positions in a few of these clubs by next year)
Volunteered and Helped new converts get learnings of the religion of Islam at a mosque
TEDx Volunteer setting up the background stage and logistics.
Cricket batsman and tournament winner.
Play Table Tennis recreationally.

Things i want to do:
Increase Community Service hours
Research with a prof;
Hopefully become a TEDx Speaker
Start writing blogs about history and economics of empires
Start a Financial Literacy for teens post
Get 2-3 more LoR from a few teachers.

I am just confused about the ec's, idk what may build my profile.

I want to do an Accounting/Economics/Finance major, and wanna know my realistic chances at
Columbia University
UNC Charlotte
UNC Chapel Hill
NC State
London School of Economics
Cambridge University
NYU
Roger Williams
Northwestern

these are the ones i may have a shot at, i included English ones as i heard they do not give as much importance to ec's outside of your area of major/interest.

Please do tell if you guys know, also any advice is greatly appreciated
Thank You!

edit- also im giving the PSAT in October to try for some scholarship or just get some practice

Guidance required

Hello everyone, im a junior from India who moved to the US this year, what exactly would i need to work on to better my chances of getting a shot at an ivy or in general a top college. I got a 96% on my 10th grade Board exams (single largest exam for high schoolers in India), ima junior in NC taking subjects like APUSH, AP CSA, AP lang and AP stats, planning to do DE next semester. I also want to take, AP lit, ap calc, apes before high school ends, but the thing is idk what i should do with my ec's. in India we don't really give importance to them so didn't really build on it. A few things i have done tho is

A 3 month internship at an Accounting Firm with a letter and learning doc
Chess recreationally (participated in tournaments and got the afm title)
Tutored middle schoolers and helped them learn chess.
Got a few community service hours for people at old age homes helped with tech.

aside from this, a few things im planning to do is volunteer at my religious place, join a non profit and hopefully start blogs, but still idk if its good or not.

i wanna know what i should develop on to build my profile. and also what uni's might be good for finance/economics majors

if you can, please let me know any suggestions and advices or any other opinion

thanks

If Cricket had a ballon d'or

Criteria: Individual Performance would matter the most, All formats would have the same weightage, if 2 players have similar statistics, only then ICC trophies will be considered. However ICC Tournament performance will be important. League Stats to not be counted

2025- Joe Root (53 avg, 12 50+, dominated both formats)

2024- Jasprit Bumrah (Best bowler itw, T20WC perf)

2023- Virat Kohli (67 avg, POTT in ODI WC, 55 avg in TEST, Runs in TEST in SA)

2022- Babar Azam (2.6k runs, was him or ben for me)

2021- Joe Root (Unreal Prime, Especially Tests)

2020- IDK/ Kane Williamson

2019- Ben Stokes (Ashes, WC perf, Rohit is close 2nd)

2018- Virat Kohli (avg 133 in ODI, great tours in AUS,SA,ENG in the toughest yr to bat)

2017- Virat Kohli (76 Test avg, 2.8k runs, Excellent CT Perf)

2016- Virat Kohli (T20WC lone warrior, Great in ODI and TEST)

2015- Steve Smith (WC Winner, Great in KO's, Starc 2nd)

2014- Virat Kohli (56 av, 87 avg in BGT, Carried IND to final of T20WC, Sanga is close 2nd, dale and ab for 3rd)

2013- Dale Steyn (16 avg with 85 wkts, AB is close with Sanga)

2012- Michael Clarke(2.3k runs with a 77 avg, unbelievable in TEST, Kohli close 2nd)

2011- Yuvraj Singh (600 runs and 22 wickets, POTT in ODI WC)

2010-Sachin Tendulkar (84 avg, 8 100s, close to 2k runs)

Just my opinion, should have added more bowlers but didn't know who to switch

pre 2010 would have more bowlers tho

AP's to take for someone new

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the US high school system and am entering Junior Year. I wanna do something in finance. What AP's do I take in these 2 years to help me the most.

(Shifting from India so had a very diff curriculum)

A few which I am planning to take over these 2 years are:

AP Eng Lang

AP Stats

AP CSA

APUSH(cuz I like history)

AP CALC AB/BC (next yr prolly)

I wanted to take eco but my school doesn't offer it, what other ap's should I add tto this lineup? And is this good enough?

Final question should I self study WH as I love history and was keen on doing it but school doesn't offer it

Any other advice is happily taken.

Thanks.
