I'm writing this post to explain my worries about the Hantavirus (also known as Hanata Virus). It is an airborne virus transmitted through rat or mouse feces. My anxiety started after I explored an abandoned house on some backroads and saw a rat run across the floor in front of me.

I did take precautions: I had my shirt pulled up over my nose and face, I was wearing disposable gloves, and I had my camera with me. I also sanitized my shoes, phone, camera, and car afterward. However, after doing some research, I learned that Hantavirus can be fatal because it spreads through rodent droppings and can become airborne. Now I'm worried that I might have been exposed.

Writing a bleak dystopian aetherpunk story

How would you write an alternative history/scifi/fantasy about an alternative 1960s/1970s when a rift was discovered in 1967 that lead into other realms and then magic appeared from those said realms and with the introduction of magic to the entire world technology starts to accelerate in a rapid and fast pace that could lead to a utopian future but then a nuclear holocaust starts in 1972 that leads the world into a complete hellish and post-apocalyptic landscape, how would you write the worldbuilding, how bleak and dark do you want said story to be, what would your writing style preference be, how realistic would you want this said world to be and their first reaction to magic existing and then living in a post-apocalyptic world, would like to your opinions below in the comment section.
