I’ve done a lot of solo traveling over the last few months, but I’ve always stayed fairly close (at least 6 hours was my furthest) from home. Visiting Maine would put me 9 hours from home, and this Labor Day weekend I really want to go to Maine and explore Portland and the Coast. i know since it’s labour day weekend that’s going to be insanely busy, but as a solo traveler how safe is Portland, Freeport, and Brunswik areas? Any suggestions for places to car camp as well (preferably for free, since gas is already going to be an arm and a leg). Thank you!
