Hobby suggestions for female in 40s
So, I'm recently married and also dealing with the fact that we won't be parents as our fertility treatment didn't work. I have realised that I don't have alot of hobbies or interests to occupy myself at home. My husband will play games, paint Warhammer, play fantasy football etc. These are not things that interest me.
I am pretty social and love going to gigs, seeing my friends, going out for food / drinks, arty things, going to craft markets etc. I go to the gym a few times a week.
I watch TV and I read a reasonable amount. I need something that keeps me off my phone. Reading is ok but I end up getting sleepy and taking a nap.
I have tried sewing / dress making in the past but I never finish the course or project. It is something I would like to be good at but I just never seem to finish things once they start getting difficult. I'm not particularly crafty or arty despite being a big appreciator of those things.
Can anyone recommend things I could try that aren't going to have a huge learning curve but has a greater chance of me continuing with it?
I feel like I always end up doing housework or napping or getting into a bit of mopey slump on those Sunday afternoons when my husband is happily occupied doing things. I struggle with thr mindset of doing something for pure enjoyment. I always feel like I must be productive. Post fertility treatment, I'm also trying to figure out what a fulfilling life without children looks like.
Any words of wisdom you can offer would be welcomed. Thank you!
